UNCOMMON DESIRE FOR GOOD WORKS - PART 5

As living sacrifices, if your gift is serving, then devote yourself to serving. If it is teaching, devote yourself to teaching. If it is encouraging, encourage wholeheartedly; if it is giving, give generously; if it is leading, lead with diligence; if it is showing mercy, do it cheerfully (Romans 12:7-8). These are few functions of good works. Some of us have multi-asset advantage in the execution of good works, which is phenomenal. More below!

"In Joppa there was a disciple named Tabitha (in Greek her name is Dorcas). Her life overflowed with good works and compassionate acts on behalf of those in need."

The Bible stated that the life of Dorcas overflowed with good works and compassionate acts on behalf of those in need. Beloved, make no mistake, that was an ancient Spirit of Good works in operation.

Genesis 1:14-16 reads, "Then God said, 'Let lights appear in the sky to separate the day from the night. Let them be signs to mark the seasons, days, and years.' Let these lights in the sky shine down on the earth. And that is what happened. God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day and the lesser light to rule the night. And He made the stars as well" (NLT). Provenly, the heavenly lights are essential components of His good works, with eye-catching views.

With certainty, the Spirit of good works was heavily at work during creation, and at the same time, it has graciously preserved the creation. To that effect, the Psalmist analysed them and said, "When I see and consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, The moon and the stars, which You have established, What is man that You are mindful of him, And the son of [earthborn] man that You care for him?" (Psalm 8:3-4 AMP). Did you also notice the preservation of good works in the versified rendering? The heavens are well established and God is mindful of mankind; hence, He takes care of them. More so, Isaiah 64:8 acknowledged that we are the very predominant and cardinal part of His good works. It reads, "But now, O LORD, you are our Father; we are the clay, and you are our potter; we are all the work of your hand" (ESV).

If we could look around, we shall noticeably capture around us, the beauty of God's creation such as: the natural surroundings of mountain scenery and the marine atmosphere. What about the Earth's orbit around the sun, plus the ceaseless manifestation of sun light upon the earth on a daily basis?

Check out the stellar structure, and other planets, including the periodic elliptical revolution, as well as the structure of the earth's crust, plus the wide-ranging functionalities that take place within. The aquatic plants, the climatic conditions, the heights of redwood trees with surrounding layers of ecosystems, or the biological community of interacting organisms and their physical environment, etc. Undoubtedly, in God's realm of good works, there is no lack of variety and magnificent worth.

Beloved here is our great God:

"Who has measured the waters in the hollow of His hand, And marked off the heavens with a span [of the hand], And calculated the dust of the earth with a measure, And weighed the mountains in a balance And the hills in a pair of scales" (Isaiah 40:12 AMP).

Our eyesight, in its sharply-defined power of observation, bears witness to all of these luminous good works, and the favourable influences they have on us, in terms of their beneficial qualities and their aesthetic appeal. Indeed, God created all of these good works so that we can walk in them too.

God's inspired servant, King David, considered and abundantly testified about the work of His fingers, and in the similitude of expression, He is well pleased as we consider the works of His hands, cogitate and reflect on them with dignified awe, as well as praise His glorious and distinctive style of artistry. Guided Prayer:

Gracious Father, by the power of divine grace, you made all the works of your hands in a calculated and balanced manner, and I'm grateful for the prosperity and pleasant lifestyle provided by your good works. You established the force of the wind and measured out the waters, yet none of mankind can fathom the full measure of heavens above and the foundations of the earth below. I joyfully acknowledge that they are the branches of your favour, fully directed towards me, as the favourable welfare of my soul, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
