Reference: Matthew 6:22-23 New International Version (NIV)
"The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eyes are unhealthy, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness."
In today's article, I'm still addressing in my expository structure, the final versified segment in our referenced Scripture, which is:
"If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness."
Notably, in this expository enlightenment, I should be able to express the essential antithesis between the resultant functionalities of healthy eyes, and that of unhealthy eyes; a divine notion in the context of this topic which, though not knowingly so mysterious, will advantegeously instruct your mind and spirit with the distinction between true light and deep darkness, under any given circumstance.
Now watch this: Any two messages or visions, including their accompanied corresponding actions, can vary, depending on the eyes that influence them. To that effect, I can readily accentuate today that a healthy eye hosts precious light that embodies true wisdom and knowledge that make free and perfect, while unhealthy eye hosts the eccentricities of immense villainy, whose corresponding actions are mainly characterised by mostly selfish, dishonest, or cruel inclinations - motivated by personal gain and bad motives, rather than good intentions.
Now let me prove my points below:
On the one hand, when it comes to functional demonstration of healthy eyes, Habakkuk 2:1-2 (NLT) reads:
'I will climb up to my watchtower and stand at my guardpost. There I will wait to see what the LORD says and how he will answer my complaint. Then the LORD said to me, "Write my answer plainly on tablets, so that a runner can carry the correct message to others."'
Any individual, like Habakkuk, who functioned with healthy eyes, can wait to see what the Lord says, and then, he will write the God-powered insights he sees - with those eyes, clearly and in a comprehensive manner. Why so? The light within is considered as divinely-enabled, and therefore such a person knows what to look out for. And unless you have healthy eyes, you will never give much thoughts to God-powered insights which are larger than life, let alone waiting to see what He has to say and how He will answer your requests.
On the other hand, when it comes to what unhealthy eyes can offer and sustain, the light within you will be equivalent to darkness. And the Lord Himself said that you can have the worst darkness, because your eyes don't feel quite right. For instance, I can demonstrate that King Herod had, sustained and functioned with unhealthy eyes which led to the big picture of killing of blameless infants. How great was the darkness that prompted Herod's action? The greatness is considered as the cold-blooded darkness of massacre, rooted in cowardice and absence of noble kingly character.
Just by fearing a rival to his throne, which is a function of unhealthy eyes, he ordered the murder of specific humankind, involving a large number of innocent victims [infants for that matter]. And comparably, just as Moses survived the function of unhealthy eyes owned and demonstrated by Pharaoh, Jesus Himself escaped that of Herod the great, in the land of the living.
Beloved, manifold political violence and cruelty are highly overseen by unhealthy eyes. Hence, there are several "well known" historical examples of where great darkness had been displayed and is still being demonstrated in today's world.
The Holocaust which was the systematic, state-sponsored persecution and murder of six million Jews by Nazi Germany and its collaborators between 1941 and 1945 during World War II, [a genocide carried out through mass shootings, Ghettos and forced labor], as well as the Nanjing Massacre, carried out by Japanese troops in China during Second Sino-Japanese War - are few examples.
Beloved, if the light within you is darkness, instruct my reasoning about how profoundly great the darkness is, and I will show you a more excellent way, as you stay tuned for part 10. Shalom!
Scripture Reading - Matthew 4:16; John 12:46; 2 Corinthians 4:6; Ephesians 5:8.
Exuberant Declaration:
I am always capable of seeing and writing a vision of God's goodness and faithfulness, as well as His clear purpose for my life on earth, and I function accordingly with healthy eyes of faith. Praise God!
