HIDDEN TREASURES

When God is committed to honouring a man, He goes before him to level mountains, shatter Bronze doors and hack through iron bars, regardless of who they are. God honoured Cyrus beyond his imagination and gave him a title of respect, even though he didn't know God or submit to him from the start.

Reference: Isaiah 45:3 New International Version (NIV)

"I will give you hidden treasures, riches stored in secret places, so that you may know that I am the LORD, the God of Israel, who summons you by name."

Cyrus was God's anointed. God called him in order to use him to subdue the nations before him and to strip Kings of their armour. For this reason, God opened a great door of wealth and riches for him such that he abounded in infinite treasures. King Cyrus confirmed this in His proclamation in Ezra 1:2, which reads, "Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, The LORD God of heaven hath given me all the kingdoms of the earth; and he hath charged me to build him an house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah."

God gave Cyrus hidden treasures and riches stored in secret places, by making him known to the monarch of the most mighty kingdom of the earth in his days, and then through his dealings with diverse kingdoms and people, he was acknowledged and also fulfilled God's purpose by aiding the return of the Exiles, whom Nebuchadnezzar, King of Babylon took captive to Babylon.

To gain better understanding about the hidden treasures of darkness, the term, "secret places" stands out in Isaiah 45:3. It denotes darkness. From the Biblical history, the Kings of the east had great treasures hidden in some obscure, secret place which were hard to be accessed except in cases of pressing need. However God entrusted to Cyrus, treasures stored in dark places of Babylon and that of many other kingdoms, which their kings have amassed.

Beloved, God is so sovereign that He can open your eyes and grant you access to uncommon wealth and mighty treasures concealed in secret places. However the Lord says: the real secret place is recorded in Psalm 91:1. It reads, "He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty" (KJV). There are unimaginable treasures hidden in the secret place of the Most High and its only made available to those who dwell there.

The Bible says, "You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand" (Psalm 16:11 NIV). God is always committed to releasing hidden treasures with pleasures to you in His presence. As a man or woman of His presence, He will make known to you the path of life and introduce you to hidden treasures. Like Cyrus, God has called us by His name and bestowed a special favour on us. But its extremely remarkable that His hidden treasures cannot be discovered by accident. We must learn to dwell in His presence. That is where we receive the Spirit of wisdom, revelation and knowledge. That is also where we can receive uncommon ideas and divine guidance that command treasures. That is where He leads us to the right people and connections.

These hidden treasures, also known as treasures of darkness, are hoarded in secret places. Why did God not think or talk about giving Cyrus riches from public or open places? This is because anything of great value, especially "treasures" are always hidden securely. That's why your money is always kept in the bank. Even the gifts of Spirit are deposited in you. Christ, the embodiment of wisdom and knowledge, lives inside of you. Apart from His manifestations, nobody can see the Holy Spirit resident in you, yet He is your greatest treasure and asset (2 Corinthians 4:7).

The Bible says this about God: Clouds and thick darkness surround Him; righteousness and justice are His throne's foundation (Psalm 97:2 NIV). Where? In the heavens. Did you know that God hides Himself in thick darkness? Psalm 18:11 (AMP) says, "He made darkness His hiding place (covering); His pavilion (canopy) around Him, The darkness of the waters, the thick clouds of the skies.

God makes darkness His covering, and He uses the dark rain clouds as His canopy, which tells us a lot about the mystery of darkness. The (KJV) translation rendered it in this manner: He made darkness his secret place... This implies that the real guidance and access to treasures of darkness and hidden riches can be secured in the secret place of the Most high. Beloved, don't just dwell in the secret place; refuse to take the secret place (of His presence) for granted. Shalom!
