Our inheritance is clearly dependent upon new birth. What does this mean? It is not for children born of natural descent, but born of God. So you must be reborn - not with a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan, but a birth that comes from God. How can someone experience a birth that comes from God? By receiving salvation that is in Christ Jesus.
To that effect, John 1:13 reads, "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name" (NKJV). So the reception of Christ is continually shown as the necessary condition, as well as evidence of qualification for inheritance based on God's promise, which shuts out the flesh and human works from the office of Sonship.
Reference: Galatians 3:18 New International Version (NIV)
"For if the inheritance depends on the law, then it no longer depends on the promise; but God in His grace gave it to Abraham through a promise."
By faith in Christ, we have this justification and righteousness, powered by being purchased by His atoning blood and so, we have the spiritually-enabled platform, whereby Kingdom inheritance and all other spiritual blessings are bestowed on us. Indeed I esteem it as a magnificent favour to be delivered from Satan's kingdom and translated into that of Christ at my new birth experience. And it's so compelling that our translation into the Kingdom of light took place exactly the same time we received Christ; there was no delay in the transfer. It was an immediate settlement in the Kingdom of light. Hallelujah!
Beloved, notably, I want to demonstrate my gratitude to God whose special grace fitted me to partake of the inheritance provided for the saints, not on account of merit, but by His boundless grace. And I equally thank God for the testimony of His Spirit within my inward being, because through His infillings, I time and again perceive and experience the deep-rooted strength of being God's own peculiar possession and a heir of His Kingdom. And all of these treasurable codings happen within me, thereby evoking divinely-inspired propensity that moves me forward in possessing my inheritance in Christ and in forging of greater height in Christ. Hallelujah!
To instantiate this verity, Romans 8:16-17 reads, "For His Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God's children. And since we are His children, we are His heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God's glory" (NLT). In a nutshell, in these very Pauline epistolary versified statements, we can locate the informative illustration of a "threefold" truth. Firstly, notice that the Spirit's affirmation is involved; secondly we are God's heirs. Thirdly, together with Christ (that is, as a result of inextricable union with Christ), we are heirs of God's glory. So the three explanatory elements are worthy of notice.
Behind the scenes of my inward man, divine strategies are activated by the Spirit of God to empower my spiritual life to gain the predominance as a heir of God's glory. Not only that, bear in mind that together with Christ, we form heirs of God's glory that become so deeply entrenched in the higher or heavenly realms. In other words, our position with Christ as joint-heirs is constantly unchangeable. And this revelation hits my spirit distinctively any time I cogitate on it with ardent alacrity.
More so, the revelatory insight hints at "my precious self" being the reflected glory of God, which is the outright reward of accepting Christ as Lord. In essence, the noble works of the Spirit in my inner man, which glorify the Supreme Father in the throne room, reveal me as a qualified heir to the throne of grace where all inheritance of the saints are sorted out. Glory to God! In fact, permit me to put it in this manner: I'm entitled to many-sided blessing of divine nature as a heir of God and the revealer indwells my quiddity. Stay tuned for part 5. Shalom!
Every now and then, I claim or demand my inheritance by right of being a worthy heir to the promise, and by the virtue of my new birth and purchase by the precious blood, I possess all my possessions in Christ. Blessed be God!
