FREEWILL LIPS OFFERING

TUESDAY 30 NOVEMBER 2021

Freewill lips offering is a spiritual sacrifice that pleases God. Its more about our particular definitive decision to praise God. Every Christian whose mind is focused on God and has a purpose and direction in their life desires to praise God from time to time.

Reference: Psalm 119:108 Amplified Bible (AMP) "Accept and take pleasure in the freewill offerings of my mouth, O Lord, And teach me Your ordinances."

Knowing what you want gives you a sense of purpose. The Psalmist just wants to offer God freewill offerings from his mouth. Freewill offerings are offerings based on a person's full intent or purpose. They are special offerings presented to God as a willing praise from one's mouth. The Psalmist was in a mode of volition, which is a function of choice rather than feeling. It is that particular mode that guided his mouth and filled it with testimony of God's goodness.

Ephesians 5:18-20 (NIV) says, "Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ." In other words, learn to give thanks with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit and be sincerely thankful. Our thanksgiving offering stems from the voice of joy and gladness.

When we regularly engage God's attention through praise and thanksgiving, not only are we going to enjoy His multiplied grace, but also its keeps us fervent such that our spirit will always be aglow. Praising God has a way of helping us to apply fresh thinking to challenging situation. As we praise God, we gain a higher perspective through His almighty power at work in us. Then He supplies us with all the necessities we require in such challenging time because we trust in Him. God has given us in Christ, all blessings in the richest abundance. And by being partakers of Christ Himself, we have come to receive divine inheritance as joint-heirs with Christ.

God has laid up spiritual blessings for us in the heavenly realms in the Lord Jesus (see Ephesians 1:3). However, one of the ways we can draw them out and fetch them into our lives is through our sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving. Therefore practise more of praise and thanksgiving to God, today and always. Shalom!

Exuberant Declaration: My daily life is a psalm of thanksgiving service to God read and presented at the footstool of His eternal throne. Through constant praises, my spirit is always open for the reception of God's grace and His manifestive glory. Therefore, I have every reason to celebrate God from day to day; for I daily receive His benefits which can never be exhausted.
