DIVINE ARCHETYPE - PART 6

WEDNESDAY 24 APRIL 2024

Reference: Hebrews 1:3 New International Version (NIV)

"The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of His being, sustaining all things by His powerful word. After He had provided purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven."

The next segment in the above versified reference, to be expounded by my humble self is:

After He had provided purification for sins.

The act of purification was accomplished by Christ, which was all about His sacrifice on the Cross for sins, and the earnest atonement that was made by it.

After He had made purification for sins...meaning that perfection of His sacrifice of atonement, which is delightfully approved and accepted by God, actualized this term. Purification is the act of freeing from all sins, purifying the conscience from dead works, and cleansing from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, all which entail purging of both inward and outward sin, all evil appetites of the human spirit, all unhallowed affections, all unholy desires and designs, all corrupt passions and tempers, and all negative inclinations, thereby getting rid of sinful nature and moral blindness. Jesus accomplished all of these by His shed blood, which in turn, set the seal of visible purity upon the saints or all who believe in Him.

After He had provided purification for sins, what happened next? He was raised to life by God, which refers to a victorious experience of resurrection, that is, a resurrection from a death in sin to a spiritual life, by the effect of the quickening power of the Almighty God, who is rich in grace and mercy. After His resurrection, He did not start exercising His independent wishes and desires yet to be fulfilled on earth. He did not start serving any other hidden purpose. He didn't start another project on earth after being restored to life by God, but rather His next step was to purposefully ascend unto His Father, who is our Father in heaven. This is to show you the heightened level of His submission and commitment to God's will.

Furthermore, His ascension to heaven was a glorious demonstration by which He embraced two primary functions: He entered His rest after His finished work just like God did on the seventh day after the entire creation (Hebrews 4:10 NASB), and He acknowledged and embraced His exalted state (Colossians 3:1 NIV). Stay tuned for more on this revelatory insight in part 7. Shalom!

Guided Prayer:

Gracious Father in heaven, by the exceeding greatness of your power, you presented Christ Jesus as an atoning sacrifice for purification of sin, and raised Him from the death in the realm of eternal victory. Therefore, in Christ Jesus, I function in the reverential fear of your lovingkindness, as I continually press forward in attaining conformity to the full image of Christ, perfecting daily in your holy fear, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
