Beloved, it was the Lord God Almighty that made David to pass through successive stages of transformation, and empowered him to gain fresh monumental experiences and "highly conspicuous" level of influence, with augmented strength, power and dominion. So my question is: "What are you doing about what God has spoken concerning you?" More below!
Reference: 1st Chronicles 17:28-29 New International Version (NIV)
"You, Lord, are God! You have promised these good things to your servant. Now you have been pleased to bless the house of your servant, that it may continue forever in your sight; for you, Lord, have blessed it, and it will be blessed forever."
Who was this man, David? He was the youngest of Jesse' children, and he was an ordinary shepherd, tending his father's sheep in the desert of Bethlehem.
On one occasion, when a lion or a bear came and carried off a sheep from the flock, he went after it, struck it and rescued the sheep from its mouth. When it turned on him, he seized it by its hair, struck it and killed it. In fact, he killed both the lion and the bear, and he understood the habits of wild animals as though he studied zoology, but it was on account of being a skilled shepherd terrifically helped by Supreme Deity. So in the beginning, he was not a materialist, but a mere shepherd boy who was tough at heart and displayed the strength of exerting valorous deeds and a fearless approach to wildlife dangers.
In that state of his shepherdhood, God's eyes were on David persistently, flashing the splendour of His elevating power on his wilderness activities, experiences and operations. When the right time came, God started preparing him to go public by sending Samuel the prophet to Jesse' place of residence in Bethlehem. Just as the Lord instructed, Samuel took a horn of oil and anointed David in the presence of his brothers, and from that day onward, the Spirit of the Lord came powerfully upon David.
Beloved, there seemed to be a significant change in his life as a result of the touch of that anointed oil because it made him nobler and more relevant than his siblings, and so his circumstance was due for a dazzling twist, with an intimation of treading an extraordinary path as a very wealthy man, and in a true sense, his transformation and upgrade began instantly, having been positioned by the oil to function better than mere existence, considering the series of events that followed.
All of a sudden, he began to subdue and defeat opposing forces or influences such as uncircumcised philistine, namely Goliath, until he became a highly influential figure in the high places or realm of Israel's society - as a God-made success. As his Kingship was established, he began to drip with wealth, honour, prestige and luxury.
In a nutshell, royal blood intelligibly flowed through his veins and he became a custodian of a fortune that intertwined with the fabrics of Israel's aristocracy. A man whose very name emerged from the wilderness and became the sunshine of Israel's salvation and heroism, as many nations were brought under his ruling power. To instantiate this verity, the Bible stated that the Lord helped him to win his battles everywhere he went (see 2nd Samuel 8:1-14 NIV).
So David ruled over the whole nation of Israel and did what was fair and right for all his people. Moreover, the positivity of his thought pattern captures my entire existence till this very moment. To that effect, stay tuned for part 3. Shalom!
I am a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's own special and peculiar treasure, who has been called forth out of darkness and lowly place, to function and dine with the nobles and inherit a seat of inestimable honour, for the pillars of greatness belong to the LORD, and on them He has set my feet. Hallelujah!
