HEED THE VOICE OF WISDOM - PART 5

WEDNEDAY 21 MAY 2025

"I, wisdom, dwell with prudence, And find out knowledge and discernment" (Proverbs 8:12). Godly wisdom reside with prudence, and  therefore, as you abound more and more in honouring the voice of wisdom, your earthly operations would be accompanied by sound knowledge and all discernment, such that your good judgment and moral force would find expression in wise actions that would truly be beneficial to your life on earth.

As you grow in the understanding of what it means to function in divine wisdom, you will increasingly be empowered to practice what is right and excellent, with a joyful obedience to God's Word. More below!

Reference: Proverbs 1:32-33 Common English Bible (CEB)

"For the waywardness of the simple will kill them, and the complacency of fools will destroy them; but whoever listens to me will live in safety and be at ease, without fear of harm."

Indeed, whosoever listens to the voice of wisdom will be established in miraculous safety and often be at ease, without fear of harm. So what should be your response to the voice of wisdom?  "Listen and hear my voice; pay attention and hear what I say" (Hosea 28:23). As you do so, you will be established in miraculous safety and often be at ease, without any fear of harm. Beloved, its a voice to be possessed, trusted and acted upon, and the moral or virtuous importance attached to its possession is that you'll be perfectly safe.

The wisdom literature based on Solomonic inspired utterance, with Persian and Aramaic influences reads, "Wisdom and money can get you almost anything, but only wisdom can save your life" (Ecclesiastes 7:12 NLT).

The book of Ecclesiastes is significantly prestigious in the sense that the connotative inference addressed King Solomon as a wise Preacher, because of his voice of wisdom, aside from being the wisest, richest, and most influential King in Israel's history, and to that effect, the Septuagint conveyed the word "Ecclesiastes" as  "Speaker before an assembly" or "one who addresses an assembly or congregation", and it is a term derived from the word, Ecclesia, meaning church, assembly, or congregation.

Now this saying is absolutely right: Wisdom can get you almost anything, and only wisdom can save your life. The voice of wisdom rescues from hidden traps, and shields from deadly hazards. When you embrace the voice, her huge outstretched arms protects you. Under the voice of wisdom, her arms fend off all harm. Since wisdom, like money, is a defence, and the advantage of knowledge is that wisdom preserves the life of its owner, it implies that under the influence, you'll fear nothing, both during the day and at night times. To achieve a greater clarity, the Psalmist analysed it in this manner:

You'll not be touched by the flying arrows in the day, nor by the disease that prowls through the darkness; you'll not experience the disaster that erupts at high noon. Even though others succumb all around, and drop like flies right and left, no harm will ever graze you because you are untouchable. Yes, you'll function untouched, and watch it all from a distance, because evil can't get close to you, and harm can't get through the door - on account of the defence it offers. Yes, the voice of wisdom is magnificent enough to guard you wherever you go. When it is your defence, you'll walk unharmed among lions and snakes, and kick young lions and serpents far from the right path ordained for your heightened progress (Paraphrased).

Beloved, nothing in this world can fill God's shaped void in a man's life like the voice of godly wisdom. Once it is embraced, you'll definitely function from the standpoint of the superior quality of God's perspective, and life will take on a whole new meaning and purpose, because the Spirit of wisdom is substantially omniscient.

The voice bigly understands and validates all of God's profound plans, purposes and counsels, which is an evidentially acclaimed functionality of Holy Spirit's Deity. And, in the utmost inextinguishable extent, the Spirit of wisdom clearly searches and precisely comprehend "all things" - the very distinguished and noble definition of omniscience. Stay tuned for part 6. Shalom!
