Reference: Colossians 2:6-7 New International Version (NIV)
"So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in Him, rooted and built up in Him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness."
The final segmentary statement based on the above versified reference is:
"And overflowing with thankfulness."
"Abounding in thanksgiving to God" is an expressive virtue that has contributed a vast usefulness to any divine building process across the ages. God doesn't build you up to remain in silent mode; you are designed to overflow with thanksgiving as you are getting rooted, built up and strengthened in the faith.
This has been the original blueprint, considering the related analysis of creation of this world. To instantiate this phenomenal verity, Job 38:4-7 reads,
"Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Tell me, if you possess understanding. Who set its measurements—if you know— or who stretched a measuring line across it? On what were its bases set, or who laid its cornerstone- when the morning stars sang in chorus..." (NET).
Sons of God, known as the morning stars, were cheerfully singing and overflowing with thanksgiving while Supreme Deity was shaping, forming and building the entire creation. In the same manner, as we get built up and strengthened, we are designed to mirror the morning stars by abounding in thanksgiving to God, with an enthusiastic acclamation.
"Heaven and earth" creation is a finished whole, and so the angelic choir for that artistic purpose is now a preterite, but in Christ, the "building up" for the new creation is an ongoing process, and therefore, there is no specific timeframe for our "thankfulness" galore; the exuberant expression must remain a continual shout for joy, because it broadens our relational condition with the building constructor, namely last Adam.
Succinctly, "overflowing with thanksgiving" is an archetype of divine inspiration that demonstrates and promotes the continuity of divine enablement. It is quite indicative of the verity that you trust the building constructor and His building process; (all) the more so, our hearts of gratitude give Him immense pleasure.
In addition, we obtain a divine impartation through singing songs of praise and worship to God, and it is fundamentally profitable in gaining significant acceleration of spiritual growth and encounters. Singing for joy graciously activates dormant spiritual gifts, and equally empowers the saints for persistent ministry's work or service. It is an outward expression that reflects the inward assurance of our formative spiritual development.
To ensure an active devotion and sincere reverence for God, you can't afford to refrain from overflowing with thankfulness. Let's consider few of the beneficial outcomes: Firstly, it triggers God's mysterious and miraculous workings and, secondly, it is an enabling factor in cultivating attentive communion with Godhead, and in comprehending divine mysteries, on the wings of deeper spiritual intimacy.
Beloved, Hebraic awakening intimation numbered as Hebrews 13:15 reads, "So through Jesus let us always offer to God our sacrifice of praise, coming from lips that speak His name" (NCV). Therefore let us be eagerly thankful, in response to God's work on His structural, configurational basis of building up our faith, and so worship Him acceptably with reverence and awe. Shalom!
Scripture Reading - Psalm 29:2; John 4:24; Colossians 3:16; Revelation 4:11.
Exuberant Declaration:
With a consistent heart of gratitude, I'm grateful to God that I have remained rooted in divine love, steadfast, immovable, faith-filled and well-mannered, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that the "building up" and demonstration of my faith muscles are not in vain, because they produce tremendous results in my life. Hallelujah!
