THIS YOU MUST KNOW: GOD IS FOR YOU!

Have you ever thought of the reality that God is truly for you? Paul offers a definitive answer to this question in today's article. He also established that God is for everyone who is in Christ, who has been saved by grace because God has provided for our justification. Moreso, today's reference is one of the most encouraging and affirming Scriptures in all of God's Word, in light of the fact that God foreknew us, predestined us, called us and justified us.

Reference: Psalm 56:9 English Standard Version (ESV) 'Then my enemies will turn back in the day when I call. This I know, that God is for me.'

I want you to have a clearer understanding of this truth: As a child of God, God is for you! It is important to have it at the back of your mind, so you can always stand tall and apply this truth, irrespective of those who declare themselves your enemies. Understand that God was for you before the worlds began; His delight for you didn't just start today. He was for you ahead of your existence, otherwise He wouldn't have sent and smitten His only begotten, beloved Son, laying the full weight of His wrath upon Him, just to save you. He was for you when you were lost in sin - He loved you notwithstanding all. He died for you even when you were still rebelling against Him. That's the meaning of the Scripture that says, 'But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us' (Romans 5:8 NIV).

God has been for us and is for us now, with all the infinity of His being and His love, and the manifold nature of His wisdom. He is always for us, even throughout eternity. This implies that the size of any enemy against you does not mean God is no longer for you. And because He is for you, our referenced Scripture informs that the voice of your prayer will always activate His help and defence. It reads, 'Then my enemies will turn back in the day when I call. This I know, that God is for me.' That means - there is no uncertainty, but a well-grounded assurance- "this I know."

Now understand this truth: Whatever your enemies mean for evil, God will always and eventually turn to your advantage (see Genesis 50:20). Remember, nobody launches attacks on a 'nobody'. If you are a child of God, then you are distinguished; therefore you have an enemy. And as you keep walking with God, the enemy will surely notice and attack you. Therefore, when the battles of life come your way, stop asking, 'why me?', instead start dancing and praying in joyous tongues. Why? Its because God is aware of what He's deposited inside of you and He knows it will remain untapped until it's challenged. When God wants you to unleash the best He's placed in you, you can be exposed to the enemies you may have never encountered. When you encounter people, enemies or fellows who oppose you, God allows it because your value will never rise to the full, until you experience the challenge.

In times like that, always increase in the knowledge of God's Word and abound in love. Also affirm God's Word concerning you often. Declare that greater is He that lives in you than he that is in the world. By doing these things, you turn back your enemies in shame because if God be for you, no one can ever be or possibly work against you' (Romans 8:31 NLT). The Bible also says, 'Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies, Who is there to condemn us? For Christ Jesus, who died, and more than that was raised to life, is at the right hand of God - and He is interceding for us' (Romans 8:33-34 NIV). In other words, anyone at all might be against you, any person or group might try to oppose or challenge you, but it doesn't make any difference because of Who is already for you. Paul is saying, 'who of any consequence could ever be against you'? What could anyone working against you ever hope to accomplish against you? If God Himself is for you, then there's no chance that someone can thwart God's plan for you or plan against you successfully.

Guided Prayer: Heaven Father, its an amazing and life-changing thought to acknowledge that you are always for me. Nothing can stop you from loving me and being my defence. My victory and dominion over spiritual and physical enemies is absolutely assured on account of your great love. Therefore, I have come to an undeniable conclusion that your divine presence is my permanent companion and it's superior to any opposition that comes my way.
