THE WORD STANDS FIRM IN HEAVEN

God's Word is infinite, and it is sovereign over everything, including our lives as Christians, because it stands firm in heaven. It also affirms our identity in Christ Jesus. This is the reason why meditating on the Word and all that it represents, helps us to live with the right perspective and walk in dominion here on earth.

Reference: Psalm 119:89 New International Version (NIV) 'Your word, LORD, is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens.'

The Word of God stands firm in the heavens. In other words, it is a higher law. It is settled in heaven - highest dimension. So the verse is talking about its position in the hierarchy; farther than the earth realm. The KJV says, 'For ever, O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven.' Every other thing bows to the Word. Its a more compelling reason for treasuring it; its not just that, it is eternal.

From generation to generation, the Word does not change because God was not voted into the office of His throne. He is always on the throne. No one elected Him. He is the 'I am that I am', and the 'El Shaddai', often translated as God Almighty.

To understand the power and supremacy of God's Word, let's weigh His name, compared to the Egyptian pantheon. The I AM suggests - He is the self-sufficient and self-sustaining God. The Israelite nation lived surrounded by temples dedicated to deities with faces, bodies, birth stories, and death stories. Most significantly, they had names and dominion over certain aspects of life. Not so for those who have the Almighty God. Moses simply introduced God as the 'I am that I am'. That's the concept that gave Israel the victory over the Egyptians.

Its important that you understand the weight and power of the Word. When the Word of God gives you a name or tells you who you are, it always conveys your dominion over all things, because His Word is settled in Heaven. It is the expression of His power, and it carries His superior nature. For instance, the Word says that in everything, we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us (Romans 8:37 ESV). 'More than conquerors' is a name settled in heaven.

The Word gave you that name because you are superior to conquerors. And remember that the Word stands firm in the heavens. If you answer this name - rulers, principalities, territorial powers will begin to bow to you because you are more than conquerors. The Word says, 'we are seated together with Christ in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age, but also in the one to come' (Ephesians 2:6; Ephesians 1:21).

Beloved, the Word of God contains higher laws and they stand firm in the heavens. That's where it is settled. Therefore settle it in your mind that you'll always answer the names the Word has given you. It will cause you to excel and walk in absolute dominion in the earth realm.
