THE TREASURES OF WISDOM AND KNOWLEDGE - PART 2
In part one, I shared about the treasures of wisdom hidden in Christ Jesus our Lord. Today, I'm going to share partly about the treasures of knowledge in Christ, which is the full and perfect knowledge of God's will, and then continue in part 3. There is a hearty recognition of the treasures of knowledge in Christ. It is knowing God's heart and mysterious counsels and what His will is made of.
Reference: Philippians 2:3 New Living Translation (NLT)
"In him lie hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge."
The treasures of knowledge in Christ simply means knowledge of divine will. Accessing this knowledge empowers us to grow in grace and stand firm in all the will of God, mature and fully assured. In part one article, I demonstrated the wisdom of God expressed in all of creation by Christ. Then we saw all that God did through the treasures of wisdom in Christ. Before we go ahead, have you ever thought about the wisdom that supports the earth's foundations and laid its cornerstone? According to Newton's law or observations by astronomers, the earth has no foundation. It floats in the space and it orbits around the Sun. And the Sun orbits around the center of our Galaxy, Milky Way. In other words, the earth has no pillars or cornerstone that support it or anything from which it suspends.
So what wisdom is supporting the earth? The answer is available in Hebrews 1:3 (ESV) which says, "Christ is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power." Did you notice that? Christ (His spoken word) is the wisdom that "upholds the universe": It also involves the earth that floats in the space. Remember the width, height and depth of the space were measured by the same wisdom, "Christ". The amplified Bible rendered it this way, "upholding and maintaining and propelling all things [the entire physical and spiritual universe] by His powerful word." So when God asked Job, "where were you when I laid the earth's foundation?", the foundation He was talking about is the power of His spoken word, which refers to Christ in Hebrew 1:3 (ESV).
Hebrews 1:2 (NIV) says, "But in these last days He has spoken to us by His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, and through whom He made the universe." So through the wisdom, Christ, the universe was made. Emphatically, it is the treasures of wisdom in Christ that decided on the earth's size, came up with the blueprints and also the measurements as it was spoken into being. This information is also God's wisdom in creation with a clear knowledge of His will. So the treasures of knowledge in Christ must be accompanied by thorough wisdom and discernment in spiritual things. Christ upholds the earth by the spoken word, which is the expression of His power. What is said in the dictionary about the word "uphold," is "to sustain or support", which means that the "Word" is the pillar or foundation that supports the universe in the space.
The knowledge of God's will is hidden in Christ. It involves His plans, designs and purpose. Even though God has revealed His plan and purpose in Christ, we are not able to comprehend fully all of the plans in time realm until eternity begins. This is the reason the Bible says, "Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God's work from beginning to end (Ecclesiastes 3:11 NLT). Indeed "Christ in us" is the mystery revealed, but in time realm, we can never grasp the vastness and unfathomable depths of all the dimensions of Christ resident in us. We can only be awed by it and filled with wonderment and admiration. Stay tuned for part 3 of this wonderful topic. Shalom!

Precious Father, I thank you for revealing the unrevealed, which is now made manifest in Christ. Christ is a mystery in manifold truths, once hidden from the wise and prudent, but now lives in me.
