THE FOUNTAIN OF LIFE - PART 2

Knowing the fountain of life and functioning in the light with earnest conviction position us to manifest in the glory prepared for us before the world began.

Reference: Psalm 36:9-10 English Standard Version (ESV) "For with you is the fountain of life; in your light do we see light."

The Amplified version of the Bible says, "For with You is the fountain of life [the fountain of life-giving water]; In Your light we see light." This means that Christ hosts the fountain of life-giving water. When a Samaritan woman asked Jesus where she could get the living water, Jesus answered, "Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life" (John 1:13-14 NIV).

When Jesus said, "Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life," it implies that truly, with Him is the fountain of life and this truth introduces us to experience the glories of the heavenly, with perfect and everlasting joy. It lets us know that the spring of water is of tremendous importance, meaning that we can only experience full satisfaction in Christ.

Beloved, in a very solemn sense, outside Christ, there is no fountain of life because all that's left will be the fleeting pleasures of this present world, and they are all insignificant and deceptive, meaning that they are capable of blocking anyone's sight from firm connection with eternity (Christ). Bear in mind that no matter how fascinating a life without Christ is, the pleasures and comfort are momentary, when compared to the eternal glory of Christ, the fountain of life.

So when the Psalmist says, "For with you is the fountain of life", it is a delightful eye-opener, which calls our attention to focus on Christ and also, enlightens us to invest in the things of the Spirit because they have an everlasting value. Got it? It doesn't matter who you are in this world, or the level of your influence and position, if you shut out Christ from your life, you are doomed for eternity. That's just the truth!

The last caption or wording in our referenced Scripture reads, "in your light do we see light." To see here means to perceive the light of divine revelation and also, to visualise and partake of the effects of walking in the light. If we are already in the light, why do we have to see light? It simply means that we can go deeper in light, by detecting and accessing more revelation of light in an in-depth manner. Apostle Paul addressed the Ephesian Christians saying, "For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light! For this light within you produces only what is good and right and true" (Ephesians 5:8-9 NLT).

To fix your eyes on eternal joy and have full access to this very fountain of life, walk as a child of light. It is the only condition for profiting in Christ. When you function as a child of light, you can experience, generate and maximize the divine light intensity. For instance, a prolonged period of walking in the light of God's Word increases our productivity and empowers us to keep bearing good fruit in Christ. That's the reason for the instruction: live as people of light. Beloved, fix your attention and affections deeply on Christ, for with Him is the fountain of life. Shalom!
