God delighted in our fathers and as a result, He made covenantal promises to the patriarchs and their descendants, the nation of Israel, where the Lord Jesus Christ came from. In actual fact, the place of Jesus' nativity as recorded in the synoptic Gospels such as Matthew and Luke, is Nazareth, in the town of Galilee [in present-day Israel].
In this regard, Johannine literature numbered as John 1:11-12 reads, "He came to that which was His own [that which belonged to Him—His world, His creation, His possession], and those who were His own [people—the Jewish nation] did not receive and welcome Him. But to as many as did receive and welcome Him, He gave the right [the authority, the privilege] to become children of God, that is, to those who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) His name" (AMP).
So at the same time, we can acknowledge that we are the true beneficiaries of God's delight in our fathers because we have received Christ, and therefore we are the very seed of Abraham, just in the same way a child belongs to their actual parent. To that effect, Pauline epistolary expression numbered as Galatians 3:29 reads, "And now that you belong to Christ, you are the true children of Abraham. You are his heirs, and God's promise to Abraham belongs to you" (NLT). More below!

Reference: Deuteronomy 10:15 New King James Version (NKJV)
"The LORD delighted only in your fathers, to love them; and He chose their descendants after them, you above all peoples, as it is this day."
The Bible says: To the Lord your God belong the heavens, even the highest heavens, the earth and everything in it. Yet the Lord set His affection on your ancestors and loved them, and He chose you, their descendants, above all the nations—as it is today.
The part that really gets my ardent attention is: And He chose you, their descendants, above all the nations—as it is today. Hence I can personally say, "And God chose me, the seed of Abraham, above all the nations" [superior identity]. Beloved, this is not a general choice or election; God did not express a general notice here, but rather a deep sense of commitment in His full delight in me, and I daily acknowledge that this is the case in my Christian life. Hallelujah!
What prompted the descendants of the fathers in whom God delighted - to be considered as the objects of God's choice? Love-based prompting; it is denotative of the truth that He has chosen us by acts of His loving-kindness. So God did not choose our fathers' descendants because they were fat people, slim people, wealthy people, powerful people, attractive people, smart people, high-minded people, viliant or famous people, but rather He chose them from an infinite perspective of eternal love, meaning that God is all about making the choicest treasures from the standpoint of His standard of "perfect will" demonstration (Ephesians 1:11 NIV). And therefore, we understand that His desire or delight is rooted in the counsel of His will.
The love from God is a true love determined in advance by His divine will, meaning that we did not earn or merit it. To instantiate this phenomenal cognizance, Pauline epistolary expression reads, "Even before He made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in His eyes" ~ Ephesians 1:4 (NLT).
Therefore, God, loving and choosing us in Christ, implies that He did so according to a fixed route or supreme standard, namely Christ; the approach is superintelligent and supernatural, not terrestrial and it's designed to support a specific purpose, like the saints being more confident in Christ, not in their own meritorious performance or laudable conduct or any human perspective, because none of us was there when we were chosen in eternity.
Just as God chose our ancient fathers above all peoples, we also have been chosen as those who do not belong to the world, and we have been chosen out of the world as superior and peculiar beings (John 17:14-16 NLT). Stay tuned for part 4. Shalom!
Scripture Reading - John 15:16; Ephesians 1:4; 2 Timothy 1:9; 1 Peter 2:9.
Guided Prayer:
Dear heavenly Father, my motive today is to acknowledge that nothing in this world can compare to your delightful preference and perfect love for me in Christ, which were ordained on my behalf in your foreknowledge, in Jesus' Name, Amen!
