Reference: Matthew 6:22-23 New Living Translation (NIV)
"The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eyes are unhealthy, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!"
I'm still handling the segment below, which I expounded upon in the prior article:
"The eye is the lamp of the body. If then your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light."
Giving few examples will help to demonstrate the various ways in which the "eye" can be used in numerous contexts, acknowledging its value, relevance, impact and significance in all fields of human existence.
Somebody has asked you to attend or show up for a special event at a given address. How will your body move to that location? Firstly, through your eye, the access point. As for the address, you may look it up on the internet to ascertain the direction your body system will be moving towards, until you reach the destination your eye saw. And as long as your body is in motion, your eye is actively directing your physical movement. Indeed, the eye is the lamp of the body, as the Lord rightly said.
The Proverbial edition of Solomonic inspired wisdom reads, "Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you..." (Proverbs 4:25 NIV). In this very Scripture, the Proverbial King says, "Let your eyes be fixed forward, and your sight be directly focused in front of you" which implies that your physical motion is connected to your eye that sees, and in that form of functional movement, exercising your eyesight in a proper way - intensifies the notion of gaining a clearer sight in the pathway of your feet. Got it?
As the lamp of the body, the eye definitely guides your goings - in harmony with your body, because your "beheld" sight is automatically instructing the body and pointing the way for the feet. So the eye, which absorbs the light of external brightness, serves as the verifier of described pathway to any given destination.
Undoubtedly, the "eye" connection to the physical surroundings and world around us "endorses" the mortality of mankind and the confirmation of true humanity. To that effect, a narrative in Acts 4:13 reads, "When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that..." (NIV).
In other words, using the human eye properly, helps in observing and realizing things, including when something is excellent or in disorder in the physical environment. It aids us in turning aside to avoid danger, in recognizing a negative influence, in shifting attention to the right influence, and in approaching and handling things appropriately in the natural world.
For instance, after a natural observation by seeing, one can arrange a scattered environment, which is denotative of bringing and coordinating things in the order of earthly perfection, which the human nature is capable of accepting and adapting to. Does one need a spiritual eye to recognize an immediate scattered environment? Not at all! Stay tuned for part 3. Shalom!
Scripture Reading - Deuteronomy 34:7; Proverbs 20:12; Proverbs 27:20; Acts 9:18.
Exuberant Declaration:
I gladly acknowledge that my physical eyes are perfectly positioned to unify all other different parts of my body, by directing and harmonizing with them to work together in organising and carrying out manifold elements of my earthly activities under the sun, thereby ensuring my smooth and effective operations, in connection to the world around me. Praise God!
