STICK TO GOD'S PURPOSE AND DIRECTION
MONDAY 03 JANUARY 2022
When you think about progressive success in Christ, it has everything to do with fulfilling God's purpose for our lives, according to His will. Now if you love God, the power behind any progressive steps you take is in you. When you hear apostle Paul mention "according to the power at work within us", he is making reference to the strength of the Holy Spirit, who effectively works in us, both to will, to work out and to fulfil God's purpose, by strengthening, energizing, and creating the longing and the ability we require - according to God's good pleasure.
Reference: Romans 8:28 New International Version (NIV) "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."
Although we have a role to play in fulfilling our destiny in Christ, it is according to God's power at work in us, meaning that it depends on our willingness to cooperate with Him. If you are born again Christian, you have been called according to God's purpose, meaning that you're not permitted to walk through life with just any purpose you could ever humanly devise. Therefore, you must understand that there is power and fulfilment in walking in God's purpose for your life.
As a Christian, you have the greater One dwelling in you and for this reason, your divine purpose has been designed to work itself out through you as long as you love God and are willing to engage the Holy Spirit's guidance for His inspired direction. In all things God is working the divine purpose out within us through the precious Holy Spirit. The Bible says, "For it is God who works in you to will and to act on behalf of His good purpose" (Philippians 2:13 BSB). That means, you must rely on Him to explain what that purpose is, to continue to be well equipped with the details and resources over time and to be positioned to function in harmony with it.
You will keep walking out of purpose if you are waiting for others to validate you. Don't go for others, except God. No! Go to God in prayer, present every plan before Him and engage His presence so you can take the right steps and decisions concerning all the actions you need to take, as well as, all the changes you want to apply to your life. Isaiah 30:21 says, "And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left". Refuse to walk in uncertainty and doubt regarding your glorious destiny. Your path will be illuminated if you're walking according to God's purpose for your life. How do I know? It's because in all things, God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.
Therefore, I highly recommend prayer with fasting because we keep in touch with divine purpose through such medium and its easier to hear God's direction for you, as you do so. Even if you feel lost in regard to how to go about your goals, aims or new plans, or you don't know where to start, you'll be amazed at the answers that come. Why? It's because the guidance or direction of God's Spirit for your life is irresistible, as you sustain everything about you in His presence through prayer and fasting. In fact, by yielding to the Holy Spirit always, you yield to God's purpose always. Never move away from your purpose in Christ. Keep in step with the Spirit so as to move in a progressive direction and ensure that you continue to fulfil your glorious destiny in Christ. Shalom!
