SAPPHIRES FOUNDATION
A foundation refers to the lower part of any structure, which is designed to distribute the weight of the structure evenly and provide a firm footing. Laying foundations for any purpose is very important in life. This is because foundations are one of the most critical elements of any project, even though they aren’t visible when a structure is complete. So we can't afford to be careless about the setting out of foundation because getting it wrong is putting the structure at risk. But strong foundations guarantee a lasting structure or successful outcomes.
Reference: Isaiah 54:11 English Standard Version (ESV) 'and lay your foundations with sapphires.'
Sapphire foundations are eternal; they remain throughout eternity and they represent the bedrock of our salvation, which is Christ. The covenant of grace was built upon the blood of the lamb, and its stronger than any other foundation. Sapphire foundations are not just eternal, they sustain the covenant of peace we have with the Almighty God, who demonstrated His love toward us, through our Lord Jesus. This is the reason Christ is called the Prince of Peace (see Isaiah 9:6). The Hebrew word for peace is shalom and its often used by the Jews as a word of greeting. But Christ as 'Prince of Peace', which is shalom, has many, many more meanings. Here are a few: wholeness, completeness, rest, safety, fullness, harmony, lack of worry, soundness, tranquillity, prosperity, and the absence of agitation or of discord.
This sapphire foundation is the person of the Lord Jesus. He is blameless and spotless, and as everlasting and beautiful as the sapphire. Isaiah 28:16 says, 'Therefore thus says the Lord God, “Behold, I am the one who has laid as a foundation in Zion, a stone, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone, of a sure foundation: ‘Whoever believes will not be in haste.' Jesus is the sure foundation. He paid the price that we could not pay, and He paid it with His blood and redeemed us. This is why we are not saved by good works and ceremonial rituals but by His grace alone. It is the deep foundation of the work of grace and it is as precious as sapphires; no human mind is able to comprehend the finished work of Christ or measure the glory. The Lord Jesus Himself laid the foundation with His precious blood and perfect sacrifice on the cross of Calvary.
1 Peter 1:18-19 (NIV) reads, 'For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.' In other words, we were redeemed by a solid foundation and we stand on that solid foundation. Beloved, our salvation and faith are not built on sand, but sapphires. This is why anyone who is built on sapphires and knows their identity in Christ or the stuff they are made of, can face any storm or life's challenge with confidence and overcome, for the Bible says, 'And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony...' (Revelation 12:11 NKJV). If you stand on any other foundation, you will have no stability and will be like shifting sand, when the storms of life attack.
Another name used in our referenced Scripture for Sapphire is Lapis Lazuli, which means 'blue stone'. The (NIV) translated it as, 'I will rebuild you with stones of turquoise, your foundations with lapis lazuli.' Lapis Lazuli is a stone of protection. It has many other properties, such as healing power, wealth and more. However, it can locate any negative or harmful attack or energy projected against you and nullify or revoke the effects. When you stand on sapphires, which is Christ, the solid rock, you can never sink or falter, and no weapon ever formed against you shall prosper. it won't work because, according to 1 Peter 2:6, the solid rock is your stone of protection and will negate and overturn any weapon. Hallelujah!
Scripture Reading - Psalm 11:3; Psalm 118:22; Matthew 7:24; Hebrews 10:11; 2 Timothy 2:19.
Exuberant Declaration: I stand on Christ Jesus, the precious stone and firm foundation. His sacrifice and finished work is perfect without injustice, and all His ways are pure. He is the Prince of peace, an Embodiment of grace and truth, and the Sun of righteousness. Every other ground or foundation is sinking sand. As I trust in His Word, I'm strengthened in my spirit to reign and rule over circumstances and to overcome life's challenges in any situation. Thanks be unto God who grants me the victory in all things, through the solid Rock, our Lord Jesus Christ. Hallelujah!
