OVERWHELMING TRIUMPH - PART 3

FRIDAY 29 MARCH 2024

Overwhelming triumph can only be accessed and experienced in Christ Jesus because of what He did for us on the Cross of Calvary. All born again Christians, functioning as part of the body of Christ, can always experience a triumph in their Christian faith because of the ecclesiastical vested right of divine authority established as a result of salvation, unwavering commitment to Christ and constant fellowship with the Godhead. More below!

Reference: Colossians 2:15 New International Version (NIV)

"And having disarmed the powers and authorities, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross."

After reading the above versified reference, I journeyed far in the realm of deep contemplation in order to figure out or obtain the reason the Lord Jesus did not stop at disarming the Satanic powers and authorities, but went ahead to lead them like captives of war and put them on display to the world.

While I was busy imagining the root of this truth, I perceived that it was an evidential proof of His victory. In addition, Jesus' actionable ascendancy could also be based on the fact that those spiritual negative powers and authorities once ruled over us and overpowered us, when we were held under the bondage of the elementary principles of this present world (Galatians 4:3 NASB).

We were at the mercy of the adversary, the devil, and thus, we were being tossed around by his wind of evil influences and wrecking dictates. To that effect, Jesus made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross. And today, thanks be unto God that the controlling influence of the evil One has been negated by the Lord Jesus Christ.

In part 2, I also identified the behavioural pattern of Satanic agents of darkness, in terms of their trembling shadows before Jesus' powerful presence. Why do the devil and His cohorts behave the way they do, whenever they collide with Jesus? They understand the hierarchy of supreme power; they are well informed about the invisible realms of supernatural authority. So their constant manifestation under the presence of the mystery, namely Christ, is a trembling motion. Their reasoning tendency at every point of running into Christ is to palpitate, submit, follow the Master's instruction and flee.

Philippians 2:8 (ESV) reads, "And being found in human form, Jesus humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross." Why did Jesus Christ, being fashioned by divine nature of God, make Himself low by taking on the nature of human likeness? God is the answer!

God had a redemptive plan to save mankind and restore the lost authority, far beyond the level of authority Adam handled before his fallen nature, which is only attainable in Christ. To that effect, Pauline epistolary expression in Romans 8:3 (ESV) reads - "For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, He condemned sin in the flesh."

Since the capacity of this article will not permit me to advance further in recounting God's redemptive plan for mankind, stay tuned for part 4. Shalom!

Scripture Reading - Isaiah 53:5; John 16:33; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Ephesians 5:2; Hebrews 2:14-15.

Exuberant Declaration:

As the righteous, overwhelming triumph is mine through Christ who loved me and gave Himself as a ransom for my salvation. Praise God!
