OUR VICTORY - PART 1

WEDNESDAY 13 SEPTEMBER 2023

Whenever we receive the victory God has positioned us to receive in Christ, great thanks is to be given for it. That way, we accumulate more of it and then, keep declaring the testimonies of our victory, under the very influence of the Holy Spirit, as we reign in Christ on earth.

Reference: 1 Corinthians 15:57 New King James Version (NKJV) "But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ."

Here Paul the apostle is ascribing all the blessings of victory to God, which is a witness to His supreme power that is behind the force of our testimonies.

But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory... Beloved, God is hard to be overpowered or defeated. Can any system or anyone defeat or stand against God? Manifold wonder Job 9:4 (ESV) says, "For God is so wise and so mighty. Who has ever challenged him successfully?"

God is the only source of victory that never fails, and we are the witnesses of His overcoming power. But how does He give us the victory in this present world? He does it through our Lord Jesus Christ. Why? This is because Jesus has conquered or overcome the world on our behalf. To that effect, He said, "These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world" (John 16:33 NLT).

Therefore, no matter the situation you face or encounter, by chewing and digesting this Scripture, you'll always function with an overwhelming confidence, bearing in mind that God is extremely powerful, and that through His precious Son, Jesus Christ, you can overcome anything, be it challenges, adversity, tribulation and so on - by your inspired faith in His finished work.

The NLT rendering reads, "But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ." Christ is our supernatural Hero because He conquered sin and death through His atoning sacrifice for sin, which resulted in His death and resurrection, thereby obtaining eternal victory for us and on our behalf, and then He ascended to heaven, where He's now seated at God's right hand as supreme Deity.

Now watch this: We, by wearing His righteousness, reign and function in that victory free of charge. So in Him, we have unlimited access to unquestionable triumph over the devil and His minions, over ungodly practices and corrupting influences, over the world, over reproach, over persecution and its effects, and over wicked and unreasonable men. By exercising our faith in Christ, we silence all of them, stop the mouths of opposers, refute false accusers, and persevere in preaching and spreading the glorious gospel of Christ, everywhere in our world.

Again, how do we function in victory? We do so in and through Christ, which implies that it is owing to the victory He obtained for us through His death on the cross of Calvary. Our victory is by His strength, in His name, and because of His glory, but for our enduring benefits. And this victory is always peculiar to all of God's people, bought at a price - by the blood of the Lamb, through the glorious Gospel of Christ.

By considering some or several Scriptures and examples in the next article, we can gain profound insight into how God displays His supremacy or superiority over those who sign up as His enemies of irrelevant and insignificant value. Stay tuned. Shalom!

Scripture Reading - 1 Chronicles 29:11; Zephaniah 3:17; Psalm 62:11; 1 Corinthians 4:20.

Exuberant Declaration: I thank God who has made me His captive and continues to lead me along in Christ's triumphal procession. He uses me to diffuse the fragrance of Christ's knowledge in my world, like a sweet perfume. Hallelujah!
