HOW TO GAIN PROFITABLE WISDOM - PART 5

"My son, accept my words and store up my commands."

Beloved, listen to what God says, and treasure His commands. Tune your ears to divine wisdom, and concentrate on understanding. If you call out for insight and raise your voice for understanding, if you seek it like silver and search for it like hidden treasures...the next versified statement gives you the end result:

Then you will understand what it means to fear the Lord, and you will gain knowledge of God (verse 5).

The fear of God has a more rewarding effect than all religious performances, and it is the brain behind a virtuous behaviour and every other excellence. It ensures an uplifting expression of ethically good actions, which correspond or align with morality and rectitude. It is the "willing" ability that governs and disciplines oneself to refrain from functioning in foolishness, and to acknowledge God's will in all things pertaining to life - by means of practical wisdom. To that efffect, Pauline epistolary expression numbered as Ephesians 5:17 reads, "Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord's will is" (ESV).

If you fear the Lord, He will give you a wise and an understanding heart. To that effect, the proverbial edition of Solomonic inspired utterance reveals that the fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding (Proverbs 9:10 NASB). By this understanding, the fear of the Lord being the beginning or foundation of wisdom, denotes that it gives other godly virtues their specific character as moral force, by providing a standard by which they can be expressed or manifested in anyone's life.

The fear of God is instrumental in conditioning us on how to conduct ourselves and keep our foot from participating in evil practices, in comformity with the image of Christ, when it comes to our "everyday" lifestyle. It is the reverential fear that gives us such a superior confidence, not to be afraid of anything on planet earth. Once you understand how to function in the fear of the Lord, it will supply you with steady wisdom from heaven's perspective - for every aspect of your life, and you will gain the increasing knowledge of God's will that shows you how to properly live a fruitful life. Heavenly Father, I bless your holy name for instilling your wisdom in the tablet of my heart as I continually search for it like hidden treasures, which in turn, empowers me to grasp what it means to fear the Lord, and to gain your knowledge in a progressive manner, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
