JESUS' LOCATION - PART 1

THURSDAY 02 FEBRUARY 2023

Location is defined as an actual place, natural setting or a particular position. Jesus Christ is a location and He is in His location because He is the "address" all by Himself. Moreover, after the exposition on this very topic, His whereabouts will no longer remain a mystery to us and to those who are yet to inherit salvation.

Reference: John 1:10 New International Version (NIV) "He was in the world, and though the world was made through Him, the world did not recognize Him."

We hear a great deal about Jesus every day. However, I'm going to let us understand what Jesus means to those who believe in Him. And there is an inward and an outward aspect of this knowledge. Therefore, in the successive parts of this topic, I'm going to expound this Scripture in this manner:

1. He was in the world, (Location). 2. And though the world was made through Him, (Artistry). 3. The world did not recognize Him (Recognition).

Now Jesus is no longer visible in this present world in a bodily form. He has ascended to heaven after His resurrection, but He didn't leave us as orphan. In John 14:18, He said, "No, I will not abandon you as orphans—I will come to you" (NLT). Of course, He fulfilled His promise and sent us a helper. As for location, it matters to know your helper's address. As a born again Christian, I know my helper and where He lives. He is the precious Holy Spirit and He resides in me. Jesus says, "I will send you the Helper from the Father. The Helper is the Spirit of truth who comes from the Father. When He comes, He will tell about me. And you will tell people about me too, because you have been with me from the beginning" (John 15:26-27 ERV).

Beloved, the whole purpose of the gospel is to empower us with the truth of Christ's current location and to grant us a renewed mindset, through the accurate knowledge of Christ, for whom, by whom, with whom, and in whom the born again Christian is destined, by his high calling, to function (1 Corinthians 8:6 NIV). To that effect, Paul noted in Philippians 3:9-10 saying, "And be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness that comes from God on the basis of faith. I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of His resurrection..." (NIV). To know His location is as important as being located in Him. When you know His location, you'll be found in Him. In its literal sense, you cannot travel to the destination you don't know the address, let alone being found or seen in the location.

All supreme power, authority, capacities, opportunities, possessions, virtues, favour, provisions, treasures of wisdom and knowledge, are located in Christ. This is why we must be found in Him and yield completely to Him as utterly as He yielded Himself to us by sacrificing Himself for us on the cross for our sins and salvation. Therefore, we are to live for Him and serve Him through the actualities and practicalities of our daily duty and activities, and by dwelling in Him, we glorify God and please Him. Christ's location denotes consecration, which sets us apart from the rest of the world. When we're found in this location, namely Christ, it symbolizes an utter submission to God, in the inmost sanctuary of the Spirit. And it equally denotes the resolute devotion of all that we have, all that we are, and His life in us, which in turn, influence our expressions in the outgoings of our daily life, to His service and to His praise. Stay tuned for part 2. Shalom!

Scriptures Reading - 1 Corinthians 12:27; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Romans 12:5; Colossians 2:10.

Guided Prayer: Thank you Father in heaven because you've revealed the location of your Son, Jesus Christ, who died and gave Himself for me. Therefore, I testify that through my salvation, I'm found in Christ, and by the way of submission, I walk daily in the flowery path of His love, full of glory. For this reason, I'm grateful, and to you, Lord God, be the eternal honour and glory, in Jesus' Name, Amen!
