IT WILL BACKFIRE

MONDAY 07 OCTOBER 2022

According to brief study, Psalm 91 is widely known as "Qui habitat", which means a psalm of protection. The Jewish tradition ascribed the authorship to Moses, with David compiling it in his Book of Psalms. According to Midrash, it was noted that Psalm 91 was composed by Moses, who penned his own experience in the process of completing the building of the Tabernacle in the desert. However, today, I'm going to bring the 7th and 8th verses to our satisfactory level of understanding, just as I'm inspired to do.

Reference: Psalm 91:7-8 New International Version - UK "A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked."

One of the most beautiful and significant Scriptures! The God we serve is the Most High, who furnishes us with such a devoted care and loves us with such a fervent love. For this reason, the content of the above Psalms is leaving us with a strong impression of the dangers from which God always delivers His people. However it made specific reference to God's people who are established under His shadow. I mean those who remain stable and fixed in His shelter. We can identify them according to verse one of the same chapter, which reads, "Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty."

The shelter of the Most High is a place of consecration, whose power no devil or enemy can withstand or challenge successfully. To understand this level and layers of protection God has granted His people, let's consider the number, "A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand," which means, no matter how many arrows or weapons formed against you, even if it gets to one thousand counts, plus another ten thousand, which are equal to eleven thousand, they will not prosper. The numbers are significant in granting you a profound insight into the unshakeable guarantee of divine protection the Lord offers His children. I believe that God's protection is exceedingly far above our calculation here because this was just Moses' inspired survey to quantify his experienced salvation in his day. What about us in Christ? In a nutshell, there is no limit to the possibilities of safety we can enjoy in Christ, where we are perfectly consecrated.

This acknowledgement of divine protection and safety is analogous to that expressed by apostle Paul in Colossians 3:3 "For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God" (NIV). Such assurance is mind-boggling and it's for every born again Christian to digest. You must have this witness in your spirit, which keeps the matter of your safety out of doubt. In fact, it cannot be argued because of where you belong. A good Scripture that exemplifies the reality of your divine protection is Isaiah 8:10: "Devise your strategy, but it will be thwarted; propose your plan, but it will not stand, for God is with us" (NIV). Another convincing example is located in Isaiah 54:14-15 &17 (AMP): "You will be firmly established in righteousness: You will be far from [even the thought of] oppression, for you will not fear, And from terror, for it will not come near you. If anyone fiercely attacks you it will not be from Me. Whoever attacks you will fall because of you...No weapon that is formed against you will succeed; And every tongue that rises against you in judgment you will condemn. This [peace, righteousness, security, and triumph over opposition] is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And this is their vindication from Me," says the Lord.

In conclusion, understand that we are not designed to beg for it. Protection is part of our goodly heritage because of where we dwell. He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High...Did you get it? It's a positional effect, meaning that the "protection" is determined by our grounded position in Christ, which is very real. You are completely inaccessible, untouchable and indestructible in the secret place of the Most High. One of the things you must do to become part of today's referenced Scriptures is to be firmly grounded in Christ and cultivate the awareness and it'll become an established truth in your daily life. Beloved, a thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. In another way, it will backfire and as a result, you will witness the undesirable reward of the wicked plot of the wicked in their own lives. Shalom!

Scripture Reading - Psalm 121:7; Proverbs 19:23; Job 5:12; Romans 8:31; 2 Thessalonians 3:3.

Exuberant Declaration: In Christ Jesus, I have unlimited access to divine protection, security and safety because I'm forever engraved on the palm of God's hands. My name and picture are always visible on the radar of God's mind who covers me with His pinions, as I rest under His wings. I'm forever protected by the power of God from every wind of evil and devices of the wicked through my faith in Christ, a reality that proceeds from the indwelling Spirit of God. Hence, the ineffable state and counts of my deliverance and shield are equal to infinity and beyond. Praise God!
