IT IS BECAUSE OF HIM - PART 3

WEDNESDAY 20 MARCH 2024

It is because of God! What a precise cognizance! Here apostle Paul did not figure this out by humanly-devised understanding but by divinely-inspired intelligence. It is God's truth, which expresses that the only way by which a born again Christian would ever come to realisation of the reason he is found in Christ Jesus, is by acknowledging that God made it happen, not himself. That way, he yields himself more to God.

Reference: 1 Corinthians 1:30 Berean Standard Bible (BSB)

"It is because of Him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God: our righteousness, holiness, and redemption."

In keeping with my systematic exposition of the above versified reference, the next segment for today's discussion is:

who has become for us wisdom from God.

Before I commence today's exposition, why did I list some of the attributes of God the Father in part 2? A Scriptural awareness such as our referenced Scripture - might come across as mere words if the "Deity" apostle Paul was talking about does not embody or personify the knowledge disclosed. We have a powerful Father in heaven with unending glorious effects. "His being powerful for us" can be equated with positioning ourselves to function in harmony or conformity with His divine will.

As you become more aware of the nature of your Supreme Deity, you are acquiring the needed strength to navigate towards or to soar to a greater height in the realm of the Spirit. So it is a waste of time to confer the wisdom from above on those who have no claim on God. But when we are aware that "it is because of God", it signifies that we truly know our source, by whom we increase daily in His knowledge and perfections, which is expressive of the strongest assurance of faith in Him. Are you with me? Glory to God!

Who has become for us wisdom from God? Christ! No wonder we are shaped by His Word! He is the true wisdom that transforms, moulds and builds a meaningful life. The mystery, namely Christ, is not an ordinary wisdom. This is why I have a special interest in possessing and becoming influenced by all the details of His mystery, so that they can thoroughly settle in my mind as the mind of Christ. Think about it: A wisdom that endured reproach, shame, sufferings and persecution for our sakes, that we might obtain salvation that comes with eternal glory. His sacrificial atonement and His gift of the new life have granted me direct access to the throne of grace and mercy.

Do you really know what that means? Consider the dependent clause, "who has become for us wisdom from God", and contemplate it properly. A wisdom from God is a wisdom from the throne room, a throne which is emblematic of absolute dominion and superior government, established forever and ever. In addition, the sceptre of the Kingdom of light in which the throne room is located is a right sceptre,  denoting the golden sceptre of mercy and grace.

On a very personal level, I'm in awe of Christ, the only wisdom that revealed God's perfect plan of salvation. Yes, the wisdom is awe-inspiring and it helps me to sustain a "high confidence" level on the outside, while remaining cool on the inside. When you are found in Christ Jesus - it means that you have an inextricable nature of connection with Him - unified by the Spirit, which is difficult to be explained by the human mind, and yet it fills you with unspeakable joy and peace. To that effect, 1st Corinthians 6:17 reads, "But whoever is united with the Lord is one with Him in spirit" (NIV).

When you are united to Christ, it means that you died with Him on the cross, and now you live with Him in the realm of glory. It also signifies that you have become dead to the world and sinful nature, by virtue of His death, and have become alive to God by virtue of His resurrection, and for this reason, what is happening right now is that you share the unending benefits of His glory and partake of His overwhelming triumph. Beloved, what wisdom is this? Stay tuned for part 4. Shalom!

Guided Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I acknowledge you today as the First Person of the Trinity, the Great I am, the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End. You are the very Fountain of the Godhead, who alone has devised the whole scheme pertaining the salvation of mankind. I acknowledge that Christ is the true wisdom that came forth from your throne room, whom you approved and accepted His sacrificial work on my behalf. I acknowledge that by your Spirit, the power of His resurrection perambulates within my inward being, working wonders and executing the glowing exploits of your divine purpose through me, in Jesus' Name, Amen!
