INVEST THE WORD IN YOUR CHILDREN

To invest the Word of God in the lives of your children is to believe in their greatness and progression. It is a course of action that activates their mastery and pre-eminence in due time.

Reference: Isaiah 54:13 New King James Version (NKJV)

'All your children shall be taught by the Lord, And great shall be the peace of your children.'

Your children are special gifts from the Lord. Taking time to teach and explain the wonderful things of the Spirit to them, especially when they are still at a tender age is needful. It shows that you treasure them as God intends you to because He holds you accountable for their training and upbringing. That's why the Word has given us guidelines to live by, in order to raise and discipline them in a loving manner.

All your children shall be taught of the Lord and great shall be their peace. This shows that you are not alone in raising your children. It is the Lord that grants you the wisdom to do it. How will God teach your children? You agree with God to make it happen. When you agree with God and do what His Word says concerning your children, it becomes possible for the Lord to teach them. Why is God so interested in how you build the lives of your children? This is because children are a heritage from the LORD...(Psalm 127:3 ESV). God owns them; you are their custodian.

The Bible says, 'Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it' (Proverbs 22:6 NLT). Whatever we do today, we are passing on to our children and to future generations. In Isaiah 54, prophet Isaiah detailed a holy heritage for God's children, and along with promises concerning their wellness (nothing to fear) and prosperity (sparking jewels). Moreso, he mentioned the knowledge of God. That means, their appetite for the knowledge of God must grow to become a strong desire as we train them with the Word.

When the system of intelligence by which your children function in their world is rooted in Biblical principles, then you've succeeded in guiding them in the right path and the result is 'great peace'. Great shall be their peace because you've initiated that child in accordance with godly way and seasoned his/her mind with the principles of virtue.

When you instruct your children with the wisdom of the divine, they master the mind of God from their early stage, and it is most likely they will grow up with God. Even when they are older, they'll not forsake God, instead they'll serve God wholeheartedly and will not be separated from Him, as long as they live. So start early or now. The Word of God in them is the seed that propels them toward fulfilling their glorious destiny. Even when the world tries to influence them, they'll be well built to withstand the negative influences.

You may say, 'Pastor we see some deviate from God at some point'. This can happen sometimes, but you see, the seed of the Word in them will never let them go astray permanently. This is because the Word is quick and powerful (Hebrews 4:16 KJV). It has the ability to reverse their steps and put them back on course, because God is merciful and gracious to deliver. Always remember this: to raise children in the way of God does take a lot of time, resources, patience, and love but they are so worth it!

Once your children gather experiences with God from a young age, they learn to trust God easily and they allow Him to shape their lives. Also their gifts and talents will be channelled in a positive direction - to honour God, plus the chambers of their soul will be open to understand the mind of God and manifest His will on earth.

Guided Prayer:

Dear heavenly Father, I accept and believe that there's no better place to find advice on parenting than the Word, which reveals how much you love and nurture us as your children. Thank you for teaching me how to be committed to sharing the Word with my children and raising them in your ways. As they grow in stature, they will not be separated from the mind of the Holy Spirit. The glory in the Word and the righteousness thereof are manifest and evident in their lives and they are granted every blessing that's ordained for them as they live for you, in Jesus' Name, Amen!
