HOW TO REMAIN IN THE LOVE OF CHRIST - PART 6

THURSDAY 25 JANUARY 2024

The unsearchable riches of Christ are fully made manifest in the realm of His love. Therefore, a strong belief in the total inspiration from our referenced Scripture below, as well as actioning the dictates, is inestimably vital. More below!

Reference: John 15:10 Amplified Bible (AMP)

"If you keep My commandments and obey My teaching, you will remain in My love, just as I have kept My Father's commandments and remain in His love."

In Ephesians 3:17, Paul's prayer stated that Christ will make His home in our hearts as we trust in Him. Then he also prayed that our roots will grow down into God's love and keep us strong, which means, to be grounded and rooted in the love of Christ. That way, you remain in His love.

How can your root go down and be grounded in His love? Firstly, by having those enlightening, convincing, quickening and awakening fellowship with His Word, and Secondly, by practising them. In doing so, we experience the drawing influences of the Word and Spirit of grace in a peculiar manner.

If you keep Christ's commandments and obey His teaching, you will surely develop root in His love. When you get to the point of becoming duly governed by heavenly realities, you will stay entirely conformable to holy affections of Christ (His love). Got it? In this realm, all the powers of your soul and your sensory faculties will become consistently and constantly awake and receptive to His desires and more so, harmonize with His perfect will. But if you do not fulfil the condition, you'll never be grounded and rooted in love.

For instance, let's assume that a man is sick, and a medicine has been prescribed to him. If the medicine is brought to him and yet, it remains unused and left on the shelf, the sick man will not be cured. Now that is not the fault of the doctor, nurse or the medicine itself. It is simply because no amount of medicine or remedy can work where it is not practically applied.

In the same manner, if you do not keep His commandments and obey His teaching, you may never experience the deepening effect of this great ocean of divine love. And we must be careful to heed Christ's suggestion in our referenced Scripture because whatever is contrary to divine knowledge, fear of God and the love of Christ - will definitely exist where the Word is not chained to practical application.

In conclusion, the aim and purpose of acting of the Word is to realise its efficacy in our Christian lives. Therefore, let us cultivate the sense of our need of settling in the realm of divine love, and do as Jesus has informed. Stay tuned for part 7. Shalom!
