The worth and value of living a virtuous life is attributed to gaining profitable wisdom. More below!

Reference: Proverbs 2:1 Common English Bible (CEB)
"My son, accept my words and store up my commands."
The above versified statement highlights how little I know - in the absence of accepting God's words and storing up His commands. In line with verse two of Proverbs chapter 2, "turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding" will follow when you begin to accept God's words and treasure His commands. This always reflects gaining divine perspective, expressive of being morally sound and resulting in godly mindset (with comprehensive insight).
So how do you incline your ears to wisdom, and apply your heart to understanding? Simply put, concentrate or pay attention to the embedded realities in the wordings, otherwise it will have zero impact. This is another way of saying, "gain spiritual wisdom and insight so that you might grow in your knowledge of God", which is rooted in fellowshipping with the Spirit of wisdom and understanding. To that effect, Pauline epistolary expression reads:
"For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, Then the way you live will always honour and please the Lord, and your lives will produce every kind of good fruit. All the while, you will grow as you learn to know God better and better" (NLT).
As for the commands, it empowers you with moral dictates or principles, and when you obey them with the right understanding, you'll be blessed with convincing evidences of its divine authority! To that effect, Jesus said, "Ye are my friends if ye practise whatever I command you" (John 15:14 Darby Translation).
The wisdom of God is linked to ethical considerations, when you have gained the right understanding, meaning that you'll always consider to pursue and identify with what is right. So the wisdom of God is the unique characteristic of the words from God; it is what makes it what it is - God's words.
When you grow and nurture the habit of paying apt attention to His words and commands, you are turning your ear to divine wisdom and applying your heart to understanding. Got it? This wisdom helps us to develop the vital internal motivation that causes us to behave in a virtuous manner. Stay tuned for part 4. Shalom!
Scripture Reading - Philippians 1:9-11; Ephesians 1:17; James 1:5; 1 John 5:20.
Exuberant Declaration:
I have the ever-increasing influence of God's words and His commands because I'm attuned to the wisdom they reveal and I wholly concentrate on their understanding. Praise God!
