ENCOUNTER THE ONLY LIVING GOD

There is no other God but the Almighty God and He is Jehovah the Godhead, eternal and sovereign. He is the ancient of days (Daniel 7:9) and He has an everlasting Kingdom.

Reference: Isaiah 44:6 New International Version (NIV) "This is what the LORD says- Israel's King and Redeemer, the LORD Almighty: I am the first and I am the last; apart from me there is no God."'

We have one true God and He is the Almighty. The greatness of His power, glory, majesty and splendor cannot be fully described with words, for everything in heaven and earth belongs to Him and He is exalted as head over all.

Isaiah 37:16 says, 'Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, enthroned between the cherubim, you alone are God over all the kingdoms of the earth. You have made heaven and earth.' The cherubs are figures that symbolise the elemental forces of the heavens. They are winged angelic beings described in the Bible as attending to God and shadowing the mercy seat. Notice the phrase, "enthroned between the cherubim." The position of the cherubim are at each end of the mercy seat, while the Shekinah, and the awesome Name, Jehovah, in written letters, are in the intervening space. They are so inseparably associated with the manifestation of God's glory. Whether the Lord is at rest or in motion, they are always mentioned with Him.

As the only true God, let's examine what His throne is made of. Psalm 89:14 (NIV) says, 'Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne. Unfailing love and truth walk before you as attendants.' This implies that the foundation of God's throne is made of compound material designs. It is constructed with the combination of distinguishing properties such as righteousness and justice. These materials are solid materials and they last forever because the throne of God is established forever, with a dominion to which there will never be any end. Also His two attendants mentioned in the same verse are unfailing love and truth. They attend to Him day and night but it would take me too long to define them one by one in today's article.

Psalm 45:6 (NKJV) says, 'Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom.' This means that on the divine throne, God reigns with a sceptre of equity. His sceptre is an ornamented rod or staff of righteousness and its an emblem of supreme authority and sovereignty. The sceptre is also used by God for judgement. Remember Moses used a staff in form of sceptre to judge Pharoah.

Also another truth about God is that He hides Himself in mystery. One of His Names is Jehovah Zephaniah. The name "Zephaniah" means "Jehovah hath guarded," literally, "hidden" (see Psalm 27:5). On His throne are small black dots and those dots represent the revelation of the mysteries of God. An apocalypse usually discloses the dot which is very important and hidden in the higher realm of spiritual realities.

Remember that the Bible says, 'The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law' (Deuteronomy 29:29 KJV). Also Isaiah 45:3-6 (NLT) reads, 'And I will give you treasures hidden in the darkness- secret riches. I will do this so you may know that I am the LORD, the God of Israel, the one who calls you by name.' This is God talking about Cyrus, His anointed one. God was unknown to Cyrus, yet He foreknew Cyrus and called him by his name. The exact fulfilment of this shows that Jehovah is the only true God. This also tells you more about God who hides treasures in mysteries or secret places.

Beloved, justice and righteousness are named as the fundamental attributes of God and an indispensable characteristics of His true nature. That's why He calls us His own righteousness because He granted us this nature in Christ. With all these descriptions, you'll hardly accept that any other god exists and you'll never find such emphatic ascriptions to any man-made god, graven image or even an earthly king or ruler.

Scripture Reading - Psalm 86:10; Isaiah 45:21; John 17:3; 1 Corinthians 8:4.

Guided Prayer: Dear Father in heaven, thank you for revealing to me that you are Almighty and the only true living God. Besides you, there is no other God. I'm grateful that you bought me with a precious price - the blood of Jesus, and brought me into your everlasting Kingdom. Having been born into supreme Kingdom, I function with divine life in my spirit and I have astute insight into the realm of spiritual realities. As your righteousness in Christ, I partake of your divine nature and I serve you as the only true God, both now and forever, in Jesus ' Name, Amen!
