DOUBT NOTHING WITH GOD - PART 2
MONDAY 31 OCTOBER 2022
The whole experience of Christ and the glorious Gospel can be summed up in one sentence: faith in God. The Bible says, "And without faith, it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him" (Hebrews 11:6 NIV). Lets find out more!

Reference: James 1:5-7 Complete Jewish Bible (CJB) "Now if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives to all generously and without reproach; and it will be given to him. But let him ask in trust, doubting nothing; for the doubter is like a wave in the sea being tossed and driven by the wind. Indeed that person should not think that he will receive anything from the Lord."
James started with, "If anyone lacks wisdom..." What does it mean? It means that as a child of God, you're supposed to have it. If you notice that it's not in manifestation in your life, then ask God in faith, doubting nothing. He went ahead to explain what a doubter looks like - a wave in the sea, being tossed and driven by the wind.
For those that visit the beach often, you can acknowledge that the wind in the beach can be strong, which literally suggests that what is required in asking is strong faith in order to withstand the wind of opposition. Also if you observe carefully in this same Scripture, James noted two important aspects of the wind. The first one is the wave in the sea, caused by the sea breeze. The second is the land breeze and it suggests the ground wind, which occurs within the surrounding area of massive water bodies. That means, you can be surrounded by things that can make you doubt but don't give in, instead keep a positive mental attitude and remain unshaken, no matter the pressure.
Interestingly, James didn't mention anything about the size of the sea, meaning that the size of your problem or request is insignificant, when it comes to God. What makes the difference is your faith and stability in the process of asking. Therefore, don't ever take on the character of a wave in the sea whenever you ask God for anything in prayer, including wisdom. In a nutshell, this is why the written Word is important. When you commit to its study and then heartily and vocally agree with it, your faith will be continually built strong to sustain any request you make without wavering.
Now the latter part of the Scripture says, "Indeed that person should not think that he will receive anything from the Lord." Notice the phrase "the person should not think..." To start with, what comes to mind is that doubt is not just a feeling of uncertainty, it is communicated in your thoughts. So if you nurture the thoughts of doubt, do not think you will receive anything from the Lord. But if you keep building your faith strong through the Word and sustain the influence of the dictates in your thought pattern, you will receive generously from God when you make your prayer request, because the Bible says, "I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you've received it, it will be yours" (Mark 11:24 NLT)." Shalom!
