DON'T SKIP THE NEEDFUL
WEDNESDAY 01 JUNE 2022
Be ever mindful of your obligations to stick to the dictates of your purpose. Always stay true to the realities of your purpose in Christ and comply to the instructions with corresponding actions, so they can form the basis for your reasoning, decisions and belief.
Reference: Matthew 3:13-15 New International Version (NIV) 'Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptized by John. But John tried to deter him, saying, "I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?" Jesus replied, "Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fulfil all righteousness." Then John consented.'
Jesus was honour-bound to fulfil the requisite process of His earthly assignments. However, the humble, good-hearted and selfless John the Baptist suggested that Jesus should be the one to baptize him. But being spiritually-minded about His mission, Jesus was attuned to the necessity associated with His earthly ministerial functions (Hebrews 10:7 NKJV). For this reason, when John attempted to deter Him, Jesus politely replied, "Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fulfil all righteousness." Then John consented.
The key detail here, is that in God's plan or programme for your destiny, there are no shortcuts to "getting" divinely empowered, divinely fulfilled or seeing your destiny accomplished. It was destined for John to baptize Jesus, according to a pre-existing plan in divine will. By submitting or choosing to humble Himself to be baptised by John, Jesus acted in total compliance with the will of God. To confirm the moral significance of His observance, heaven was opened, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on Him. And a voice from heaven said, "This is my Son, whom I love; with Him I am well pleased" ( Matthew 3:16 NIV). In a nutshell, it is the voice and active presence of God that validate your purpose, calling and glorious destiny, at any time, at any place and in any situation.
Understanding the times and what to do at every moment, to effect the move of God, helps us to live in alignment with God's revealed purpose and ensures the absence of unnecessary disadvantage. Even if you face a huge challenge like a flood or heavy storm, don't accept any negotiation to omit or skip the needful, which may compromise any divine principle in your process. A particular place, situation or environment may not be a conducive atmosphere for the fulfilment of a directive but when you understand that you're strategically positioned in the divine calendar and mightily engulfed in the presence of God, no matter where you find yourself or who you get in touch with in the path of purpose, you will have no business missing out or disregarding the essential ordinances of your divine purpose.
Therefore, Just like Jesus, be smart and heedful of your mandate when you function with those who mean well with their advice, suggestions and genuine help, especially if you know that their well-meant approach is capable of short-changing the dictates of your destiny. With this in view, we have to work out our objectives and carry out our activities according to God's will for our destiny in any given situation. How can we do that? Its simple: Don't ever ignore the voice of the Holy Spirit because its the only voice that works perfectly in all circumstances. When we study the Word, live correspondingly and pray in alignment with God's perfect will and purpose for our destiny, we are bound to succeed exceedingly in our areas of assignment. Shalom!
