DIVINE ARCHETYPE - PART 3

SATURDAY 20 APRIL 2024

Today's focus is on Christ the Divine, and His supremacy or pre-eminence in sustaining all things by His powerful word. His function of upholding all things by the wisdom of spiritual wordings is meant to inspire your ability to think in accordance with the Word, to reason effectively by the inspiration that comes from the Word, and to develop vigorous faith muscles based on the efficacy of God's infallible truth.

Reference: Hebrews 1:3 New International Version (NIV)

"The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of His being, sustaining all things by His powerful word. After He had provided purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven."

The next segment in the above versified reference - to be expounded by my humble self is:

sustaining all things by His powerful word.

Christ Jesus sustains all things by His powerful word, and we are called to recognize the light of this very attribute and live by it in the love of God. However, it's not enough to acknowledge that He sustains all things by His powerful Word; it is equally important to ascertain the archetype of the words He spoke while on earth. An august Scripture below numbered as John 6:63 has the answer!

"The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you—they are full of the Spirit and life" (NIV).

What does this imply? His words are not popular words, such as the fashionable wisdom of high-priced experts. When someone's words encapsulate Spirit and life, it denotes that it is beyond human possibilities and intellection; it is only discerned and received by those who walk in the light of the Lord, because it is only under such light that one can unveil and decode words full of Spirit and life. Got it?

To that effect, John 1:1-5 clearly stated: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it" (NKJV). Beloved, Christ is the incarnation of the Word of life, which is the light of men. And "Light of men" in this Scripture suggests the mature in Christ who live the life of the Spirit. So the life in the Word (Logos) is the light of such men. They are the only men who can sustain anything by the word of power.

While addressing the wisdom of Christ, signifying the powerful words of Creator of the Universe, Apostle Paul left us with the archetype of such men, portraying them as perfect men or the mature. He said, "Yet when I am among mature believers, I do speak with words of wisdom, but not the kind of wisdom that belongs to this world or to the rulers of this world, who are soon forgotten" (1st Corinthians 2:6 NLT). In other words, in the presence of the perfect or mature in Christ, he imparts true wisdom that sustains all things, not phony wisdom or human opinion typical of this present age and associated with the rebellious powers that rule the age.

Now watch this: Regardless of what anyone thinks about this Scripture concerning rebellious powers who rule this age, the ruling spirits are losing their grips on this world, because God Himself has been raising a chosen generation of noble men, capable of imparting His mysterious and hidden wisdom in the lives of all people in the nations of the world. Notice that I called them "chosen generation" not an ordinary generation.

In a nutshell, Petrine epistolary pronouncement numbered as 1st Peter 2:9 labelled them as follows: "But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light" (NIV). They are superior labels which describe the characterised archetype of divinely-inspired creation, known as the new creation.
