Reference: Isaiah 42:20-21 GOD'S WORD® Translation (GW)

"Seeing many things, but you do not observe; Opening the ears, but He does not hear. The LORD is pleased because He does what is right. He praises the greatness of His teachings and makes them glorious."

Today's focus is still majored on the final segmentary statement:

"He praises the greatness of His teachings and makes them glorious."

This implies that embracing the greatness of divine teachings serves as a platform for God's strength and glory to be made more manifest in us. In a nutshell, the eternal worth of the glorious gospel lies in the acknowledgement of the truest treasures embedded in the gospel teachings, which make them glorious.

The teachings of the Lord presents profoundly multifarious spiritual themes, such as the glory of Old Covenant, the greater glory of the New Covenant, the transformative power of divine truth, and the anticipation of future glory, on account of God's sovereign plan. By following the order of mention, you'll gain absolute recognition that the Lord praises the greatness of His teachings and truly makes them GLORIOUS. To that effect Pauline epistolary expression numbered as 2 Corinthians 3:4-11 reads:

"Such confidence we have through Christ before God. Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from God. He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant - not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. Now if the ministry that brought death, which was engraved in letters on stone, came with glory, so that the Israelites could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of its glory, transitory though it was, will not the ministry of the Spirit be even more glorious? If the ministry that brought condemnation was glorious, how much more glorious is the ministry that brings righteousness! For what was glorious has no glory now in comparison with the surpassing glory. And if what was transitory came with glory, how much greater is the glory of that which lasts!"

Did you get the displayed level of increased glory indicated in the above versified passage? The teachings of the Old Testament glory entails the themes of visible deliverance and tangible wonders, such as the narratives of fire from heaven, splitting the water bodies of "red sea", and manifest signs of manifold divine intervention. Moreover, the Lord made the ministry of the Spirit to be even more glorious. To that effect, Pauline epistolary expression reads, "Shouldn't we expect far greater glory under the new way, now that the Holy Spirit is giving life?" (2nd Corinthians 3:8 NLT).

Beloved, a veil remains when Torah or the Mosaic teachings and commandments given by God is read, which is indicative of old covenant glory. To instantiate this phenomenal verity, Pauline epistolary expression reads:

"But their minds were made dull, for to this day the same veil remains when the old covenant is read. It has not been removed, because only in Christ is it taken away. Even to this day when Moses is read, a veil covers their hearts. But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord's glory, are being transformed into His image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit" (2nd Corinthians 3:14-18 NIV).

This particular veil is taken away, only in Christ. Therefore, by living as a witness to the surpassing power of God's glory, we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord's glory, are being transformed into His image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. Got it? Simply put, when transformation through the Word is evident in a man, it leads to living a life that reflects the Lord's image, with an ever-increasing tangible manifestation of His greater glory. Indeed, the Lord praises the greatness of His teachings and makes them glorious. Shalom!
