CONSIDER THE LORD JESUS - PART 8

FRIDAY 15 NOVEMBER 2024

Beloved, I'm fully persuaded of considering better things relating to Christ and His eternal purpose in my life, just as they are written as visible references seen in all His good works throughout the pages of the Scripture, and we are to be consistent with such persuasions in general. More below!

Reference: Hebrews 3:1 English Standard Version (ESV)

"Therefore, holy brothers, you who share in a heavenly calling, consider Jesus, the apostle and high priest of our confession."

Have you been considering or fixing your thoughts on Jesus, whom we acknowledge as the apostle and high priest of our confession? In other words, how well do you set your focus on Jesus Christ, the apostle and high priest whom we confess, which is an expected function of a life transformed by the Lord?

Proclaiming our allegiance to the highness and high-powered name of Jesus creates the optimum for our spiritual growth and perception. So the object of our focus is Christ Jesus, as we manifest in the acme of our Christian profession. In doing so, the greatest degree of divine grace can find expression in our ability to emphasise His supremacy, faithfulness or trustworthiness - in a world filled with negative influences and contrary manifestations. And to show that we are true partakers of Christ, we've been summoned to practically keep our minds on things above, where Christ is, not mainly on things of earthly value (Colossians 3:1-3 NIV).

Are you fully aware that as born again Christians, we are mutually inseparable from Jesus because we are seated with Him at the right hand of God? Are you also aware that our inextricable union with Christ cannot be dissolved - both spiritually and physically? Why so? Our spiritual states are chained to His heavenly Kingdom, meaning that we are inseparable archetype of His kingly substance and lordly sovereignty. To that effect, Hebraic awakening indication reads:

"But you have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem. You have come to thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly. You have come to the assembly of God's firstborn children, whose names are written in heaven. You have come to God himself, who is the judge over all things. You have come to the spirits of the righteous ones in heaven who have now been made perfect. You have come to Jesus, the one who mediates the new covenant between God and people, and to the sprinkled blood, which speaks of forgiveness instead of crying out for vengeance like the blood of Abel" (Hebrews 12:22-24 NLT).

In the above Hebraic asseveration, you'll observe that we have come to the city of perfection, which is based on the superiority of Christ over the earthly mount Sinai and Judaic system of operation, and I'll additionally expound this in the next segment of this topic. Therefore, greatly beloved, keep your mind on things above, the city of the living God, because you are an invaluable part of congregation of the firstborn, enrolled in heaven. In Psalm 87:3, the descendants of Korah analysed the city of Zion by divine inference, and it reads: "O city of God, what glorious things are said of you! Interlude" (NLT). Ethically, in considering Christ, we are to acknowledge the glorious and spectacular things ascribed to Zion.

The Lord laid His foundation on the sacred mountains, and He loves the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob. So what are the glorious things spoken about Zion, the city of the living God? Stay tuned for part 9. Shalom!

Scripture Reading - Psalm 48:1-3; Isaiah 2:2-3; Michah 4:1-2; Isaiah 60:14; Zechariah 8:3.

Exuberant Declaration:

Great and wonderful things, spoken of the Lord who is the Spirit, are eternally beneficial to my life - and are more excellent and precious than gold and silver. They can never cease or vanish away from me. The blessings of His gracious favour will continually subdue the power of darkness and all forms of negativity. Glory to God!

Anna are you born again? Are you? When you receive Christ as Saviour and Lord, and you get filled with the Holy Spirit, the Word of God ceases to become just a great idea, but more so, your spiritual food which is able to build you up, transform your mindset and character, and also deliver God's promises to you. So the Word of God is more than just a bunch of great ideas when you form the habit of fellowshipping with the Holy Spirit on a daily basis.

Like you rightly said, you become what you behold. With an unveiled face, as you behold the glory of God through the efficacy of the Word, you are transformed into the image…
