CONSIDER THE LORD JESUS - PART 6

WEDNESDAY 13 NOVEMBER 2024

In today's article, there is an important Biblical figure that I want us to observe the manner in which he considered the Lord Jesus Christ, and His desire for Christ to increase in him. More below!

Reference: Hebrews 3:1 English Standard Version (ESV)

"Therefore, holy brothers, you who share in a heavenly calling, consider Jesus, the apostle and high priest of our confession."

We can intentionally develop and increase Christ by considering Him. John 3:30 reads, "He must increase, but I must decrease" (KJV), denoting a craving for "persistent unfolding" of the supernatural life in him.

John the Baptist continued to consider the Lord in this manner:

"If someone comes from heaven above, He ranks above it all and speaks of heavenly things. If someone comes from earth, he speaks of earthly things. The One from the heavens is superior; He is over all. He reveals the mysteries seen and realities heard of the heavens above, but no one below is listening. Those who are listening and accept His witness to these truths have gone on record. They acknowledge the fact that God is true! The One sent from God speaks with the very words of God and abounds with the very Spirit and essence of God. The Father loves the Son and withholds nothing from Him" (John 3:31-35 VOICE).

If you cogitate on the above versified passage, you'll realise that John the Baptist emphasized an apt meaning - with significance from considering the Lord's origin which is divine, His manner of speechification, His supremacy, His Lordship which is above all, His mysteries [revelation of heavenly realities] and the understanding of interrelationships and oneness of the Godhead, plus their implications.

Indeed, the very aspect of John's consideration of the Lord that always gets my attention in the passage is:

"The One sent from God speaks with the very words of God and abounds with the very Spirit and essence of God. The Father loves the Son and withholds nothing from Him."

Did you notice that John's discerning manner of Jesus' understanding is characterized by the "veritas" or notion that Jesus and God are interconnected as trinity, although they can oftentimes be described with reference to the wholeness of Godhead, which is based on a holistic viewpoint?

To consider Jesus is therefore a great way of interpreting the knowledge of His essence by viewing it from a variety of illuminating perspectives and using divinely-inspired values to convey a better sense of it. So this was John's ability to mentally put together, the precise comprehensive analysis of His cogitation about the Lord, which is a function of a godly mind.

Beloved, today and always, with settled and absolute knowledge, I consider the Lord Jesus Christ in this manner:

"And this is the truth: God has given us the gift of eternal life, and this life is in His Son. If you have the Son, you have eternal life. If you do not have the Son of God, you are not acquainted with true life. I am writing all of this to you who have entrusted your lives to the Son of God—so you will realize eternal life already is yours" (Johannine literature numbered as 1st John 5:11-13 NIV).

In my prescriptive statement, to consider the Lord Jesus is a rewarding reflection that requires a sort of deep thoughtfulness and percipient interpretation based on a true and sensible understanding of His divinity, His office, His supremacy, His mindset, His heavenly communications, and a profound sense of His earthly manifestations, which are far from human-based values and opinions. Stay tuned for part 7. Shalom!

Scripture Reading - Matthew 6:33; Philippians 2:1-3; Ephesians 4:1; 2 Timothy 1:9-10.

Guided Prayer:

Gracious Father in heaven, I'm forever grateful that I live and function in the empire of divine light with a supreme mindset, which is the mind of Christ who I consider as my Lord, the apostle and high priest of my confession. For the same reason, I acknowledge and appreciate the beauty and advantage of His mind and nature in me, viably applicable in all realms of life, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
