CHRIST, THE FULLNESS OF GODHEAD

03 May 2021

Fullness is the state of being filled to capacity. In Greek language, the translation of fullness is completeness, plenitude or repleteness. Christ is the fullness of the Godhead in bodily form.

Reference: Colossians 2:9 King James Version (KJV) "For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily."

God, out of love, was pleased to send His Son to die on the cross and save us from damnation. Though Jesus is fully God, He became flesh and dwelt among men. While on earth, in Him, all the fullness of the Deity dwells bodily. Fullness of the Godhead here means all the glory, all the dimensions and the complete energies of the Eternal God. It is Christ's incarnation, which is God inhabiting the human body, while remaining fully God.

When we talk of the fullness of the Godhead bodily, it denotes the arrival of Jesus Christ, the Son of God in human form. His supremacy, His divine essence, His divine nature, His likeness, His perfection, His power and authority, all make up His fullness. The next verse says, "and in Christ you have been brought to fullness" (Colossians 2:10). This equally means, we have the fullness of the Godhead, because Christ dwells in us.

Ephesians 4:13 (NIV) talked about Christians reaching unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and becoming mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. Christ is the full figure of spiritual perfection and completion and we have His full measure always. In other words, the whole measure of the fullness of Christ dwells in us. Every born again Christian is designed to manifest His spiritual completeness. It happens by our personal union with Christ through faith. His fullness is much more demonstrated through our awareness of perfection, in the sense of maturity and that of growing in the full knowledge of Him. Shalom!

Scripture Reading - John 1:14-16; Ephesians 1:23; 1 Corinthians 6:19; Ephesians 3:19; Colossians 1:19.

Exuberant Declaration: I'm filled with all the fullness of God because Christ, the most full Godhead, dwells in me. God put everything under His feet and made Him head over everything for the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all. Therefore, Christ in me makes me head over all things. I live with this consciousness, thereby reigning in perpetual dominion over the devil and his cohorts. I enjoy daily, the quality of richness, exuberance and overflowing abundance of every blessing of the Spirit in Christ. Hallelujah!
