A GENEROUS MAN - PART 6

TUESDAY 24 DECEMBER 2024

A generous person who is well established in the grace of God and the perfect finished work of Christ at the cross, will increasingly experience the practical knowledge of His faithfulness, resulting in the ability to stand immovable and unshakable in faith and to be fully awakened and inspired to share the glorious Gospel of Christ with others, which is an applied generosity in the superlative degree. More below!

Reference: Isaiah 32:8 New King James Version (NKJV)

"But a generous man devises generous things, And by generosity he shall stand."

While thinking of an exemplary figure or faultless ideal of generous person with an eternal presence and unchanging nature, nobody else crossed my mind but the Lord Jesus Christ.

Jesus was so generous with His grace on earth that apostle Paul in 2nd Corinthians 8:9 acknowledged this truth: "For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sake He became poor, so that you by His poverty might become rich" (ESV). This Scripture implies Christ's graciousness and sacrificial kindness, reflecting God's own nature. And in the same Scripture, the cardinal foundation for His selfless generosity is not only majored on empowering us to gain and have financial blessing, but encompasses all-round favour, unco prosperity and uncommon abundance in all aspects of life, denoting complete provision necessary for the entirety of the saints' well-being.

This grace for true riches which the Lord demonstrated as being poor for our sakes - is on the basis of fulfilling the Abrahamic covenant which God swore to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and it is symbolic of our spiritual and material heritage rooted in God's faithfulness across all generations. To further expatiate this verity, the special grace which Jesus Christ exerted in the meekness of becoming poor, so that by His poverty we might become rich, is indicative of fulfilling and upholding the very covenant God made with the patriarchs.

In doing so, the wealth and prosperity given to us by God legally find expression in our lives and serve a greater purpose, which is Kingdom correlated, because the Abrahamic covenant is a binding agreement, a promise from God to all His people, that includes all-encompassing blessings contingent upon Christ's faithfulness and obedience to the point of dying on the cross.

As we all celebrate the birth of Jesus who came to show us what true love and compassion are, the Bible consistently teaches that those who are generous - reflect the heart and mind of Christ, and they will continually experience His astonishing kindness, His generosity, and His gracious favour, denoting that they are blessed in doing so. Stay tuned for part 7. Shalom!

Scripture Reading - Proverbs 3:9; Psalm 37:21; John 3:16; Acts 20:35; 2 Corinthians 9:6-10.

Exuberant Declaration:

I joyfully celebrate the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ, who came as God in the flesh, and stood on the authoritative ground of applied generosity at the cross to grant me His finished works which have bestowed supernatural and moral significance on my Christian faith. Praise God!
