A GENEROUS MAN - PART 3
FRIDAY 20 DECEMBER 2024
The concept of generosity has a fixed inward nature and established abode, especially in the heart of any man who has such calling. It is a gift from heaven that is esteemed far above the most valuable things in the world. As you practise the spiritual and empirical knowledge of it, you will remain conversant with it. Moreover, true generosity has got nothing to do with Pharisaical symbolism or Pharisiam, which implies being righteously hypocritical. To that effect, Jesus said: Woes to scribes and Pharisees: "Everything they do is done for people to see..." (Matthew 23:5 NIV). More below!

Reference: Isaiah 32:8 New King James Version (NKJV)
"But a generous man devises generous things, And by generosity he shall stand."
Any "Pharisaicalness" that is encouraged within the theatre of generosity in today's world is not Christ-like, meaning that it is not a genuine practice of embodied righteousness and godly munificence.
Advocating a regular continuance of any doctrinal belief by observing an external form of ceremonies based on religious mindedness and sybaritic conduct in order to gain people's attention and show them that you are very generous - without the governing influence of the Spirit of God - will imply a self-righteous or hypocritical munificence, and sometimes, a carnally-motivated benevolent act. Beloved, God doesn't honour and accept our generosity because of such performances but by the Spirit's influenced guidance.
Indeed, the Holy Spirit is the person and true Spirit of generosity. Through His counsel and accurate guidance, the prompted impulses and drive which you receive in your inward being, that manifest your acts of generosity in the external world - will always harmonize with God's mind and perfect will for your life, especially when the Word is your delight. The Holy Spirit will always take sweet counsel with your spirit, and inspire your heart with divine power, ability, efficiency and grace to be generous in the right manner. Zero wonder, the Bible says, "And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work" (2nd Corinthians 9:8 NIV).
Pauline epistolary expression to the church of God in Corinth notified the saints that God would generously provide all they needed. Then they would always have everything and plenty left over to share with others, meaning that without God's beneficent provision, you cannot wholly demonstrate the acts of godly generosity. So it can effectually and rightly happen by the power of His Spirit dwelling in you, which can interestingly, be in opposition to Pharisaical obedience, because it is not by any power we produce by ourselves, but through God who empowers us with His humane ability - to will and to act on behalf of His good purpose and pleasure. Stay tuned for part 4. Shalom!
Scripture Reading - Psalm 126:5-6; Luke 6:38; 2 Corinthians 9:5-8; Philippians 2:13.
Guided Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I thank you for the gift of your Son, Jesus Christ, who was given to mankind through the image of your generosity. As the Spirit guides, I acknowledge that by constant application of the Word of God, and by practising earnest generosity, I shall be blessed in all my ways, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
