THE WORDS OF MY MOUTH - PART 8

SATURDAY 21 SEPTEMBER 2024

Moses' speech muscles were strong, and this can account for the persistence of his bold attitude exercised in worded form or structure - in accordance with our referenced Scripture below. Indeed, Moses was worth hearing; his coordinated speech pattern is worthy of mention and attention. More below!

Reference: Deuteronomy 32:1-3 New International Version (NIV)

"Listen, you heavens, and I will speak; hear, you earth, the words of my mouth. Let my teaching fall like rain and my words descend like dew, like showers on new grass, like abundant rain on tender plants. I will proclaim the name of the LORD. Oh, praise the greatness of our God!"

Here is the full summary of Mosiac version of instructive intelligence:

1. Let my teaching fall like rain:

In other words, let the teaching fall on men like raindrops. Like I expounded in the previous article, Moses' doctrinal concern was for his teaching from the heart of heaven to water the soil of the hearts of those who receive it on earth.

2. Let my words descend like dew:

In other words, let what he says collect like the dew. Simply put, let the hearers derive accurate spiritual understanding from his verbal output. (This segment was well expounded in my last article)

3. Like rain sprinkling the grass:

Here his verbal output is obtained with a picture-naming description or symbolic metaphor, which is grass. How does this apply to a teaching ministry? Firstly, a grassland is a large open area of country covered with grass, especially one used for grazing or used for rich pasture. So Moses instructed, "Let his words, descending like dew, be received as showers on new grass", which implies an atmosphere that flourishes, as a nourishing effect or result of the right teaching.

To instantiate this sort of atmosphere, let us consider when the Psalmist testified, "The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures; He leadeth me beside the still waters" (Psalm 23:1-2 NIV). Did you notice that the Lord, who is the good Shepherd, made him lie down in green pastures? Now watch this: The green pasture here denotes fresh grass, which is a well showered and properly maintained atmosphere with nutritional value. So Moses desired that his words would fall like showers on new grass, which serves as a resting place and perfect meal necessary for a healthy spiritual growth.

4. Like abundant showers on the green plants:

In this case, Mosaic instructive intelligence suggests: Let his words, descending like dew, shower the tender green plants, for sustainable growth, which implies that it should water and build up the listeners. Zero wonder, Petrine epistolary dictum reads, "Like newborn babies, you must crave pure spiritual milk so that you will grow into a full experience of salvation. Cry out for this nourishment" (1st Peter 2:2 NLT).

Tender green plants desire such shower in order to stay far from withering appearance. In addition, the Bible says, "The teaching of your word gives light, so even the simple can understand" (Psalm 119:130 NLT). And in the context of this topic, the tender green plants represent the "simple" (open-minded audiences).

The well-observed verbal analyses layered above shows that it features the series of distinct methodology based on Mosaic teaching approach. The analyses display significant effects of the words of a teaching priest, denoting that when they descend like dew, they aren't unpredictable, unproductive or powerless; they are gracious words of eternal influence acceptable before men, because they tend to inform, reform, nourish, refresh, transform, empower, and prosper.

Beloved, just like Moses' speech samples, you have the superior authority to activate the same in your world, such that the Gospel message being received from your mouth will be fulfilled in the lives of the recipients, as well as yield tremendous level of impact and notable results in your world. Stay tuned for the expository knowledge of the next segment in part 9. Shalom!
