The Word 'strange' is a term used for something unusual or surprising; difficult to understand or explain. Supernatural is a manifestation considered to be of supernatural origin. Our Lord Jesus functioned in the strange supernatural throughout His ministry here on earth. So many times, the disciples were filled with wonder or astonishment because being with Jesus was like walking around in the theatre of dramatic performances, where miraculous presentations are being hosted live.
Reference: Matthew 8:27 King James Version (KJV)
'But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!'
Men that walked with Jesus asked this sort of question: what manner of man is this...! Almost 21 centuries later, men still ask the same question. Indeed, Jesus is Lord! In Mark 6:46-52 (NLT), after telling everyone good-bye, Jesus went up into the hills by Himself to pray. Late that night, the disciples were in their boat in the middle of the lake, and Jesus was alone on land. He saw that they were in serious trouble, rowing hard and struggling against the wind and waves. About three o’clock in the morning Jesus came toward them, walking on the water.
Jesus intended to go past them, but when they saw Him walking on the water, they cried out in terror, thinking He was a ghost. They were all terrified when they saw Him. But Jesus spoke to them at once. "Don't be afraid," He said. "Take courage! I am here! Then He climbed into the boat, and the wind stopped. They were totally amazed, for they still didn't understand the significance of the miracle of the loaves. Their hearts were too hard to take it in.
Beloved, the disciples couldn't get it! As they were still trying to figure out the miracle of the loaves, Jesus began to walk on the water. The next - without saying a word, Jesus entered the boat and the wind stopped. Maybe they never got it again! It was strange supernatural. Only the Lord Jesus could feed a multitude out of such a small collection of bread and fish (see Mark 6:35-44). Only Jesus could still a storm and bring the boat to immediate safety at the intended destination (see John 6:18-21).
Throughout His ministry, Jesus was God with mankind. Faith in Him opened the door to what was never humanly possible. Even though they walked with Jesus, the disciples found it hard to believe the things they saw with their natural eyes. By human standards, they were simply too good to be true.
His Name is Jesus, the eternal Excellency, the Great Monarch of Zion, the Chief Cornerstone, our Great High Priest, the miracle Worker, the Lamb of God and the Lord of all. Our challenge is that we haven't understood the greatness of the power we have in Him. Power and authority are our heritage in this kingdom but we must position ourselves correctly in order to transmit it naturally.
The secret of walking in the supernatural is absolute submission to the Holy Spirit. The higher you go with the Holy Spirit, the more you engage in the supernatural and enjoy supernatural results. The mission of the Holy Spirit is to bring us to a point where we walk exactly like Jesus, and live in the miraculous like He did.
Without Christ, we have no relevance. This is because all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to him (Matthew 28:18). Today, Christ's authority that produced His kind of results now belongs to us. Jesus invested it in us, through the Holy Spirit. You don't just have the power to believe in the miraculous, you also have the power to exercise your faith in it and work it out. Once you allow the Holy Spirit to install His alarm system in your heart for consistent quality fellowship, you can activate and invoke the power of God in you to experience the miraculous.
Scripture Reading - Matthew 14:33; Mark 4:41; Luke 8:25; Mark 1:27.
Exuberant Declaration:
Christ in me makes me a wonder in my world. As I exercise prevailing faith in the supernatural, I walk in power, I experience the miraculous and I dominate circumstances. I belong to God's Kingdom and all things are possible for me as I put my faith to work. Glory to God!
