THE GLORY OF THE LORD - PART 5
WEDNESDAY 02 AUGUST 2023
The whole earth is wrapped in darkness, and the unbelieving ones sunk in deep darkness, yet the Lord rises upon you and His glory appears over you. In other words, it doesn't matter what is happening in the world, the Lord's glory is in charge in the lives of the saints. It also renders the darkness harmless. More below!

Reference: Isaiah 60:2 New Living Translation (NLT) "Darkness as black as night covers all the nations of the earth, but the glory of the LORD rises and appears over you."
If God's bright glory has risen for you, then wake up to this truth, put your face in the sunlight, and shine. When God rises on you, His sunrise glory breaks over you.
His glory is everything supernatural and it is incomprehensible to the carnal mind which is blinded by the god of this world. This means that it is only grasped by the perception of unveiled minds and faces. To that effect, 2nd Corinthians 3:18 says, "And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit" (NIV).
As long as all of us, with unveiled face, continue to behold in the Word of God, as in a mirror, the glory of the Lord, His ever increasing splendour will continue to rise in us and over us from one degree to another. Since, the glory rises on account of more and more thorough knowledge of the Word, what should be our attitude towards the Word?
Firstly, treasure the words of wisdom and knowledge in the Word and in the covenant of grace, from which the glorious gospel is derived. Secondly, cogitate on the Word with ardent alacrity, which means - give it your attention enthusiastically, with cheerful readiness, read the passages and think deeply about what you read; then picture or reflect on every detail, speaking them to yourself. That was a normal routine for King David in his day.
In addition, always remember that this secret in us: "Christ lives in you," gives us assurance of sharing His glory, according to Colossians 1:27 (NIV). However, Christ as the hope of glory here, does not describe just an actuality in the present moment, but also a potentiality in eternity. So the main aim and purpose of Paul mentioning Christ being in us, as the hope of glory, does not denote the realised effect we absorb in the Word, but rather it points to our future glory with God throughout eternity. Stay tuned for part 6 of this topic. Shalom!
Scripture Reading - Psalm 104:31; Exodus 15:11; Psalm 145:5; Colossians 3:1-2.
