Distinction can be referred to a markedly remarkable difference between similar things, and the act of disclosing such difference(s) with distinguishing features that set those similarities apart from each other.
Yes, we have come to the accurate and acceptable knowledge that God delighted in our fathers, to love them. However, is there something more we should know about our heavenly Father's delight and satisfaction that leads to the manifestation of His loving kindliness? A sure yes! To instantiate this verity, Zephaniah 3:17 shows the hierarchical structure of their connection:
"For the LORD your God is living among you. He is a mighty saviour. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs" (NLT).
In accordance with this versified statement, did you notice that His delight precedes the expression of His love? More below!

Reference: Deuteronomy 10:15 New King James Version (NKJV)
"The LORD delighted only in your fathers, to love them; and He chose their descendants after them, you above all peoples, as it is this day."
There are four main distinctions of divine power stated in the above versified reference:
1. The LORD delighted only in your fathers: DELIGHT
2. To love them: LOVE
3. He chose their descendants after them: CHOICEST TREASURE
4. You above all peoples, as it is this day: SUPERIORITY
In today's article, I will shed light on the first distinction which is "DELIGHT." Then the Lord will continue to grant us notable insight into the expository process of the rest in the successive parts of this topic.
Yes, the LORD massively delighted in our fathers, and "to delight" is the Greek word, (eudokeō), which means to be well-pleased with, or to show satisfactory gaiety in, or approval of. Other definitions are as follows: To think well of, to give consent to, to take pleasure in. To that effect, God's delight in our fathers was manifestly expressed in His voice, and by reflection, it displayed all the definitions of delight in resonances like clarity of strength, harmony, and divine affection, and then created an adequate positioning for their positive responses.
What is specially helpful or beneficial about God's delight is that when you adapt to it, by means of substantial inward, outward and mental unison, it facilitates your earthly progress, such that the advantageous advancement of your endeavours evolves or unfolds with the consciousness. So His delight enhances the overall divine and natural experiences of the saints. For instantiated insight into this verity, let's consider a Biblical figure known as King David. The Scriptures clearly noted that God was delighted in David because of his heart and reverential attitude, which were devoted towards Him. On that basis, David lived a victorious life that was increasingly integrated with divine favour and intervention. To that effect, 2nd Samuel 7:1 reads:
"After the king was settled in his palace and the LORD had given him rest from all his enemies around him" (NIV)
Beloved, in accordance with the above versified passage, we can acknowledge that God's delight in King David resulted in his being positioned to gain access to all-round rest from peril and aggressive enemy forces, and in being established as a settled reigning monarch in a stable condition of divine safety, protection and power. Stay tuned for part 7. Shalom!
