SUPREME DEITY - PART 5
MONDAY 30 OCTOBER 2023
The Bible says, "Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ" (NIV). In other words, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message that is heard is what Christ spoke. And this denotes the first hearing. The translation known as "Aramaic Bible in Plain English" specifically stated that faith is from the hearing ear, and the hearing ear is from the word of God. The hearing ear, here, signifies our faculty of audition (or auditory faculty).
To extend what is heard, so as to become a cognitive awareness, which is to establish the knowledge through the sense of understanding, we must endeavour to hear it twice, especially in a progressive, profoundly cogitative state of mind. That way, it registers in the depth of our spirit.
Reference: Psalm 62:11 Amplified Bible (AMP) "God has spoken once, Twice I have heard this: That power belongs to God."
Having grasped the importance of hearing God twice, today's focus is on the phrase, "Power belongs to God." What does it mean beyond the face value? The phrase expresses the greatness of God's supreme authority that designed power. In other words, the strength, the fullness, the administration and the climax of all power are under His control, and this truth requires more understanding, because it has an unending value, more than the mere eyes can visualise. However through the expository knowledge of today's article, we should be able to gain insight into the nature of God's supreme authority that designed power, with an increasing clarity.
How does acknowledging that "Power belongs to God", help us to stand firm in faith? It grants us a "victorious living" mindset, an insight into our advantageous position in Christ, which also implies we have His supreme power as an antidote against evil influences, worries, contrary forces and opposition in this world. Every power is subject to God because God made it. So we are strengthened by this knowledge because it's a cognizance that fortifies our flow in dominion in any given situation, and stabilises our superiority over the devil. The power of God is not only within our reach by His essential presence through the Holy Spirit, we should also understand that He is in control of every other power in heaven, on earth and beneath the earth, and through His presence in us, we have been granted dominion over all His creatures.
God's gracious presence is peculiar to His church and people; and like I mentioned earlier, His power gives us sufficient security against all contrary powers, bearing in mind that He is the Superior or Supreme Being; apart from Him, there is no God. Hence, the expression, "power belongs to God", is a phrase that carries in it, a powerful thought quite energising, which can inspire a spirited frame of mind in us and also, create the awareness that raises high-powered people of God. When we acknowledge that power belongs to God, we are recognizing that all power came from a powerful Deity, and that's the reason for choosing my topic for this article, namely Supreme Deity! The Almighty Jehovah is Supreme, as the Being of beings, the King of kings, the Lord of lords, eternal, immutable, indescribable, invisible, indestructible, all sufficient, possessing of all divine perfections. He is known as a "mighty" God, who has the supreme authority to govern all power in heaven and earth. Got it?
Revelation 19:1 revealed that there was a rejoicing in heaven. To that effect, John the apocalypse stated, "After this I heard a sound like the roar of a great multitude in heaven, shouting: 'Hallelujah!' Salvation and glory and power belong to our God!" (NIV). Likewise, when we acknowledge that power belongs to God, from the standpoint of spiritual understanding, we position ourselves to appear completely unperturbed about anything in this world (and blend such a flow with a nonchalant attitude) because we know that His supreme power and authority constantly function in us, His people, to the uttermost; and by it, we exercise dominion over every other power or force of opposition. Are you with me? As well, Ephesians 3:20 reveals that God does everything for us according to "His mighty power" that works within us (NLT).
Furthermore, the Psalmist recorded in Psalm 66:3 that through the greatness of the power of God, His enemies shall submit themselves to Him (NKJV). And indeed, His powerful right hand, which is forever made strong for His people, is readily able to grant all help and to deliver, to keep and to sustain in victory, and to uphold us in every duty and service He has called us to fulfil on planet earth. Stay tuned for part 6. Shalom!

Exuberant Declaration: I rejoice daily with an awareness of the truth that all power and authority belong to Supreme Deity and I belong to Him. Hallelujah!
