SPOKEN WORDS IN ACTION - PART 2
TUESDAY 10 OCTOBER 2023
Proverbs 16:24 (NKJV) reads, "Pleasant words are like a honeycomb, Sweetness to the soul and health to the bones." Did you get that? Even the human bones respond to pleasant words unreservedly. So your bones eagerly enjoy such benefit, probably - without your conscious awareness, let alone, the future of your children, but at least, the Word of God has equipped you with that information today. More below!

Reference: Hebrews 11:20 New International Version (NIV) "By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau in regard to their future."
Isaac understood the importance of words. He knew that the things that exist didn't just start existing. They were created by words. To that effect, Hebrews 11:3 reads, "By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible" (ESV).
One thing I veritably learnt from the great Patriarch, Isaac, is that he had the future in mind; he wasn't limited by any present circumstance. Thinking about the future of your children is also about imagining great things to come. And it's not about wishing them the best of luck, but its also about transforming how they think too. It's about creating a map for their future by positioning them for the limitless possibilities that come with that future through your words or prophetic utterances.
So by faith Isaac invoked future blessings on Jacob and Esau. That's the ESV translation. Now understand that the word, "invoked" does not suggest that Isaac indulged in an act of incantation or performed ceremonial rites on them, so as to ensure they had the best possible outcome in the future.
The word, "invoke" literally means, "to call upon", or "to mention." The word is derived from a Latin root (vocare, meaning "to call"). "Invoke" also comes from invocare which implies "to call upon." The latter is what the English definition reveals, when they define it as calling on (a deity or spirit) in prayer, as a witness, or for inspiration. It is doing so in the presence of the God...who gives life to the dead and calls into existence the things that do not exist (Romans 4:17 ESV). So what Isaac actually did was to call "things that were not yet" to exist in their future - in line with God's perfect will for their lives, by exercising a magnitude of imagination through the creative ability embedded in his spoken words.
You can help your children create the best future that ever existed through your words, and it will come to fulfilment in their lives, but it's an act of faith you must deliberately and willingly exert from time to time. This is because the future doesn't just happen to them. As parents, you have a responsibility to speak well over your children, as well as become instrumental in imagining and creating the kind of future they could live and function in, before they start taking actions to get into such glorious future. Why? The spiritual words you invest into their life will surely control their natural existence, including the steps they take to get there. Therefore do well to keep invoking future blessings on them.
When we think about the future of our children, we are visualising their 10 to 50-year horizon and beyond, with an optimum imaginative faculty or combination of factors and events that will take place in their lives within such period of time. Beloved, the next ten to fifty years of their lifetime is a safe and prosperous place to be, if you understand the power of your tongue over their existence. Most parents don't bring all of these thoughts into consideration when thinking that far out, because they don't realise that they can agree on their children's desirable future with their own words and invoke unstoppable progress and boundless prosperity into their future, not just some degree of blessing.
The Bible says, " For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope" (Romans 15:4 NKJV). So you can learn from Isaac, and shape the future of your children from the spiritual standpoint, so they can easily have access to zones of divine opportunity and possibility. In addition, no matter how problematic the current situation or condition of your child is, do not give up on them because you can reverse such predicament by speaking and praying over them with the right words and with clarity of divine perspective. Stay tuned for part 3. Shalom!

Guided Prayer: Dear heavenly Father, I acknowledge today that the impressions of spoken word over my life are the immediate causes of my spiritual empowerment for continual progress and good success. Thank you because the plans you have for me and my household are plans to prosper us and not to harm us, plans to give us hope and a future. Therefore, my appropriate response to your favourable plan is nothing less than declaration of divine wisdom and truth which continually finds expression in our present and future world by faith, in Jesus' Name, Amen!
