SOLOMONIC WISDOM - PART 10

Updated: Jun 10

SATURDAY 07 JUNE 2025

Reference: 1st Kings 4:29-30 Amplified Bible (AMP)

"Now God gave Solomon [exceptional] wisdom and very great discernment and breadth of mind, like the sand of the seashore. Solomon's wisdom surpassed the wisdom of all the sons of the east and all the wisdom of Egypt."

King Solomon acknowledged, comprehended, and discerned the beautiful scenery of God's creation, such as nature, landscape, mountain, tree, river and more. He spoke of trees, from the cedar which is in Lebanon to the hyssop [vine] that grows on the wall; he spoke also of animals, of birds, of creeping things, and fish, as well as the nature of very works of man on earth, because he made up his mind to know and ascertain all of the things that pertain to godly wisdom within all earthly activities, thereby making himself the wisest teacher in Israel.

To that effect, Solomonic inspired utterance numbered as Ecclesiastes 1:12-13 reads, "I, the Teacher, was king of Israel, and I lived in Jerusalem. I devoted myself to search for understanding and to explore by wisdom everything being done under heaven. I soon discovered that God has dealt a tragic existence to the human race" (NLT). In other words, in all the human activities that happen under heaven, he perceived that a miserable business and a burdensome task was given to the sons of men by which they got busy and distressed.

The wise teacher, the king of Israel, lived masterly in Jerusalem, and in terms of wealth and honour, he abundantly enjoyed both - to the securing of his own happiness and peaceful reign, for to the man whom God has delighted in, He gives wisdom and knowledge, wealth and honour, peace and joy. To that effect, Ecclesiastes 5:19 (NASB) reads, "Furthermore, as for every person to whom God has given riches and wealth, He has also given him the opportunity to enjoy them and to receive his reward and rejoice in his labour; this is the gift of God."

Have you ever imagined the fact that one man married 700 royal wives and had 300 concubines, which was impassively acceptable in a polygamous Israeli society - in his day? Have you ever calculated the cost of sufficiently maintaining 1000 women belonging to one man in a forty years of regal reign? Have you ever imagined a great palace or palaces that contained such CAPACITY of women's tranquil habitation, including any child, servicemen and maidservants?

100 wives are absolutely unimaginable, let alone, 700 wives, plus 300 women with lower status than wives, living peacefully with one man in the same era, without any form of discordant issues and marital challenges, on account of incomparably surpassing wisdom. Considering the surplus nature of the untold wealth, the district governors, each in his month, supplied more than enough provisions for King Solomon and numerous "ALL" who came to his table, ensuring that nothing was lacking.

Beloved, unco blessings are promised to the obedient, and for such persons, the quality blessings are sustained as long-lasting possessions. Therefore, it might be of great delight to know that, aside from God granting King Solomon what he did not ask for, such as - wealth and honour with sublime influence, he equally promised him the heritage of long life. To instantiate this verity, 1st Kings 3:15 reads, "And if you walk in my ways and obey my laws and commands, just as your father David did, then I will give you a very long life" (CEB).

How do men walk in obedience to God? Proverbial Edition of Solomonic inspired utterance reads, "My child, listen to me and do as I say, and you will have a long, good life" (Proverbs 4:10 NLT). The secret is "listen and do as I say." Beloved, the secret [of the wise counsel] of the LORD is for those who fear Him, And He will let them know His covenant and reveal to them [through His word] its [deep, inner] meaning (Psalm 25:14 AMP).

In my conclusive recommendation, I exhort you to fear God and action His Word, for the ways of the Lord are right and pure. The ways of the Lord are His principled covenant and true form of godliness introduced to His people, as well as His sound judgment evident in His moral precepts - to the world at large. Both, taken into consideration, are the ways of the Lord, and they are entirely upright. Shalom!

Guided Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I acknowledge that as the righteous, I wallow in joyful exuberance and wise attitudinal expressions, because I function by the wisdom of your glory which surpasses the wisdom of this world. By observing to do your will, I conform to the wordings of your precepts and covenant, and I progressively comprehend your mind which is embedded in your words and in your glorious works, in Jesus' Name, Amen!
