SOLOMONIC WISDOM - PART 1

Updated: 19 minutes ago

WEDNESDAY 28 MAY 2025

Solomonic wisdom entailed a careful and accurate insight into secret and obscure things. He was wisely inspired to search accurately and diligently, so as fully to understand things, and such profound research empowered him with thorough knowledge. To that effect, Solomonic inspired utterances numbered in the book of Ecclesiastes reads:

"I have always tried my best to let wisdom guide my thoughts and actions. I said to myself, "I am determined to be wise." But this was beyond me. What exists is out of reach and very deep. Who can fathom it? So I turned my mind to understand, to investigate and to search out wisdom and the scheme of things and to understand the stupidity of wickedness and the madness of folly" (Ecclesiastes 7:23-25).

Beloved, as for that which is far off and exceedingly deep, who can find it out? It can only be by God's empowering ability, which King Solomon acknowledged as he directed his mind to understand, to explore, to search out wisdom and explanations, and to understand some great cruelty of human folly and vanity of ferity in the path of real life. I'm therefore giving an inspired introduction to a new topic, namely Solomonic wisdom. More below!

Reference: 1st Kings 4:29-30 Amplified Bible (AMP)

"Now God gave Solomon [exceptional] wisdom and very great discernment and breadth of mind, like the sand of the seashore. Solomon's wisdom surpassed the wisdom of all the sons of the east and all the wisdom of Egypt."

King Solomon could understand many things - yes, many subjects, such as laws of nature; eventualities of earthly phenomena, as well as the existing nature of created beings. He could explain plants and trees with great insight and understanding - everything from the great cedar trees of Lebanon to the weeds that grow out of the walls. He also taught about animals, birds, crawling things, and fish. As for some of the deep things of God - Solomon had a thorough knowledge and understanding of them.

Why so? The King usually conducted and resorted to research procedures. He also revealed the state in which his accurate understanding of things was obtained - And that is from a strong, unusual desire in his heart. To that effect, he had an intimate knowledge of all things researched, since he turned his heart to know, to search out and to seek wisdom and the scheme of things.

This King gained more decided and unquestionable results from close and accurate searches, than just a simple knowledge, because his operational expertise was indicative of the truth that his researches were profound and entire, and were geared toward having a thorough knowledge of any subject matter. Zero wonder our referenced Scripture stated that he had an exceptional wisdom and very great discernment and breadth of mind, like the sand of the seashore. Are you with me? His effectual wiseness exceeded every aspect of human expectations.

In a more detailed manner, 1st Kings 4:29-34 disclosed the magnitude of Solomonic wisdom from God - in our contextualised viewpoint below:

29. God gave Solomon great wisdom so he could understand many things. His wisdom was as hard to measure as the grains of sand on the seashore.

30. His wisdom was greater than any wisdom of the East, or any wisdom in Egypt.

31. He was wiser than anyone on earth. He was even wiser than Ethan the Ezrahite, as well as Heman, Calcol, and Darda—the three sons of Mahol. King Solomon became famous in all the surrounding countries.

32. During his life he spoke three thousand wise sayings and also wrote one thousand five songs.

33. He taught about many kinds of plants—everything from the great cedar trees of Lebanon to the weeds that grow out of the walls. He also taught about animals, birds, crawling things, and fish.

34. People from all nations came to listen to King Solomon's wisdom. The kings of all nations sent them to him, because they had heard of Solomon's wisdom (NET).

Since God gave Solomon unusual wisdom and insight, and knowledge too great to be measured, it denotes a firm decision or determination from Supreme Deity to grace the mind of a curious man with an internal and external ability to discern the real beauties of His creation.

Hence King Solomon gained the power of a discerning ability in judging both natural and unnatural things - from a soundly based propensity. And it was not by human standards, meaning that it was a true wisdom from God.

So we are discussing about an exceedingly deep insight, and an understanding which was overtly beyond measure, like the sand on the seashore. Yes, we are going to delve into the scope of the matter bigly. Stay tuned for the successive parts of this topic. Shalom!

Guided Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I acknowledge that your wisdom and judgments are a great deep; they surpass the capacity of man's understanding. By the special enlightening influence of the Holy Spirit, I'm gratefully inspired to gain access to the very secrets of your depth because I'm united with Christ Jesus. Thank you my precious heavenly Father for your perfect wisdom which is my considerable heritage in Christ, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
