SOLEMN REQUEST - PART 6

SATURDAY 03 FEBRUARY 2024

In the place of prayer, we exercise diligence through the wisdom of solemn requests, in order to make the present and future joy we derive from our salvation realities and benefits sure. To that effect, Isaiah 12:3 reads, "With joy you will drink deeply from the fountain of salvation!" (NLT). More below!

Reference: 1st John 5:14-15 New International Version (NIV)

"This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that He hears us—whatever we ask— we know that we have what we asked of Him."

The fifth segment in the above versified reference is:

-whatever we ask...

You can ask for the whole world (Psalm 2:8 NIV)

You can ask for too much money (Deuteronomy 8:18 NIV)

You can ask for salvation of souls (John 3:16-18 NIV)

You can ask for a good husband or wife (Matthew 19:6 NIV)

You can ask for good children (Psalm 127:3 NIV)

You can ask for a good business (Acts 19:24-25 NIV)

You can ask for wisdom and understanding (Proverbs 4:7 NIV)

You can ask for long life and prosperity (3 John 1:2 NIV)

You can ask for open doors, increase and expansion (1 Chronicles 4:10 NIV; 2 Corinthians 9:10 NIV; Revelation 3:8 NIV).

The list is endless, depending on our personal needs, the extent of our sphere of influence and concerns, plus the level of our outreach to the lost souls, as well as our divine experiences and encounters with God. Assuredly, Matthew 21:22 reads, "You can pray for anything, and if you have faith, you will receive it" (NLT).

Whatever you ask in prayer can also denote new desires, new hopes, new aims, new expectations, new level of capacity and aspiration - in accordance with God's will. GOD'S WORD® Translation of Proverbs 28:9 reads, "Surely the prayer of someone who refuses to listen to [God's] teachings is disgusting." Therefore, endeavour to yield to the efficacious effects of that which Christ has done and suffered for us - by asking in line with the Word - just as the promises in the Scripture have authorised.

More so, faith enables us to possess the unseen solemn requests, as well as things that are seen. Therefore do not slumber in faith as you ask for anything and call those realities that are unseen - to the seen realm. To that effect, Romans 4:16-17 reads, "That's why the inheritance comes through faith, so that it will be on the basis of God's grace. In that way, the promise is secure for all of Abraham's descendants, not just for those who are related by Law but also for those who are related by the faith of Abraham, who is the father of all of us. As it is written: I have appointed you to be the father of many nations. So Abraham is our father in the eyes of God in whom he had faith, the God who gives life to the dead and calls things that don’t exist into existence" (CEB). Stay tuned for part 7. Shalom!

Scripture Reading - Matthew 7:7-11; John 14:13-14; James 4:3; John 15:7.

Precious Father in heaven, I acknowledge that you've given me an open cheque to ask for anything, as my requests remain concurred with your Word through the governing influence of your Spirit who brings me into conformity with your perfect will.
