REMINDING GOD OF HIS PROMISES - PART 10

MONDAY 13 MAY 2024

The revelation of David's metamorphosis [from shepherdship to the splendour of Kingship] is an important storied theme in Biblical knowledge. And as I come to the end of this topic, I urge you to hold fast to God's promises tirelessly, a determination or commitment which is not only able to deliver your expectations outright but also is fundamental to the development of your faith walk, as you give yourself to the teachings of God's truth consistently.

Holding fast to a promise is really a matter of choice and firm decision, and as we do so, our minds will be stayed on God, our patience will be rewarded, the will of God will be comfortably made manifest in and through us, and we will continue to grow in grace and in the knowledge of the Lord, because we profess or declare His mind for our lives, which in turn positions us to have sweet and repeated experiences of His perfect love.

Reference: 1st Chronicles 17:26-27 New International Version (NIV)

"You, Lord, are God! You have promised these good things to your servant. Now you have been pleased to bless the house of your servant, that it may continue forever in your sight; for you, Lord, have blessed it, and it will be blessed forever."

How important it is to locate the appropriate Scriptures and keep presenting your requests or expectation of the promises - before God, an action which is receptive to divine light, and susceptible or capable of creating and manifesting the outcome of an applied Word of God. The Psalmist says, "In the morning I lay my requests before You and wait in expectation" (Psalm 5:3 NIV).

And in Psalm 27:14 (AMP), Davidic inspiration urges us saying: "Wait and hope for and expect the Lord." Expecting God to act on our behalf shows the Lord that we truly believe in Him and His Word. To that effect, the hebraic epistolary expression reads, "Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep His promise" (Hebrews 10:23 NLT). Notice the condition attached - "without wavering." Then what next? God is faithful that promised, meaning that He does not waver or disappoint.

No matter who you are, where you may be, or what you are experiencing, God's guiding light is always there through the Word - to guide and deliver your expectations to you, as long as you refuse to waver. To that effect, Proverbs 24:14 reads, "So shall the knowledge of wisdom be to your soul; If you have found it, there is a prospect, And your hope will not be cut off" (NKJV). By applying this Scripture to the context of this topic, the wise penned that the knowledge of wisdom concerning the promise(s) must be located, in order to give substantial value to the promise(s). Got it?

As you locate the knowledge, there is a prospect, which implies that the possibility of your expectation is certain and imminent. And surely the rewarding experience attached to your hopeful exuberance will not be cut off. So what are you waiting for? Why have you been complaining and asking God why? Arise and locate the informative Biblical analyses that are visibly cogent in relation to the promise, and refuse to take no for an answer!

Within the shadowed hallway of a compilation of several wisdom literature collections, is Solomonic inspiration numbered as Proverbs 2:10, and it reads, "For wisdom will enter your heart, And knowledge will be delightful to your soul" (NASB). Once you have garnered sufficient logos which are capable of establishing God's promise to you as true or real, begin to cogitate and release those inspired biblical truths by vocal expressions. At this point, your utterances of these biblical truths in a repeated order - will form a distinct body of judicious thoughts which are glaringly converted from logos to Rhema word, and that is exactly your verbal and bold expression of the Father's will - concerning the promises that will deliver your desired outcomes.

Psalm 119:103 reads, "How sweet are Your words to my taste--sweeter than honey in my mouth!"  Beloved, avowing God's truth is not bitter; it is so sweet. How sweet? To sum it up: Your spirit is always flooded with divine illumination when guided by God's spoken Word in your mouth. Your soul is always renewed, refreshed and activated by the quality of your enlightened spirit, and through those spoken words, your steps are guided into desirable or favourable outcomes here on earth, even in the daily affairs of your life.

In conclusion, James 1:25 reads, "But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does" (NKJV). In other words, if you look carefully into the perfect law that can set you free from any unwanted situation or unfavourable outcome, and you do what it says, without forgetting what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it. Beloved, cogitation entails looking into the perfect law of liberty, while continuity (which is - persevering therein) stamps out the doubt and forgetfulness of God's promise. Shalom!
