PRUDENTIAL PROFICIENCY BY CHRISTOLOGY - PART 8

Updated: Jun 25

TUESDAY 24 JUNE 2025

God surrounded David with His nature which is inclined to goodness and mercy. As his very light and salvation, the Lord became his all-round protection, signifying that he was kept and preserved by the power of God alone. As his Shepherd, he led him beside the still waters, which is emblematic of unco peace and unwavering provision, because he placed his trust in His all-encompassing ability. More below!

Reference: 1st Samuel 16:18 New King James Version (NKJV)

'Then one of the servants answered and said, "Look, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite, who is skillful in playing, a mighty man of valour, a man of war, prudent in speech, and a handsome person; and the LORD is with him."

In accordance with our referenced Scripture, the last segmentary statement which is due for my clarified insightful enlightenment is:

And the LORD is with him (Divine Presence, expressive of Davidic Personage).

Even before I start the expository knowledge of this final segment, the notion associated with this reality can instil a great confidence and overwhelming worth of bold attitude in any man. The presence of the Almighty in David's life credited his soul and spirit with the domination and paramountcy of immortality, which made him prominent in all spheres of life. In a nutshell, David's identity was merged with genuine virtues cultivated in God in an ever-increasing degree.

How did King David cultivate the conscious cognizance of the Lord's presence?

In a Psalm of David numbered as Psalm 27:4, he said, "The one thing I ask of the LORD— the thing I seek most— is to live in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, delighting in the LORD's perfections and meditating in his Temple" (NLT). Contained in this versified statement is the vitalizing principle inherent in all matters pertaining to David's earthly operations; he indulged in the discipline of nurturing fresh expressions of reverent loyalty to God, steadfastly beholding Him in His temple. In doing so, he sustained a conscious belief in Divine presence which was transmitted throughout his lifetime.

In the process, he fully opened his heart to the words of the Sovereign Deity, and allowed them to saturate his inward being with quietness and confidence - in all manner of natural circumstance, or on a variety of cognizable aspects of all human existence, a possibility which nothing else could offer him, thereby justifying the righteousness of God's precepts - by endeavouring to observe them. To that effect, Psalm 119:5-6 reads, "Oh, that my actions would consistently reflect your decrees! Then I shall not be put to shame, having my eyes fixed on all your commandments" (NLT/ESV).

In his conception of conscious experience, David revealed God's presence as goodness and mercy following him all the days of his life, on account of his constant commitment to dwelling in the house or presence of the LORD, which in turn, furnished him with operable strength and an assured system of victorious outcomes that favoured his interest and anointment (Psalm 23:6 ESV).

In Christological or ecclesiastical doctrine, the greater picture is that - by the efficacy of our eternal salvation, the Lord now lives in us permanently, a state of Divine influence which is far beyond just a matter of being with us, and its a real life, ongoing experience of God's precious people, powerful in its design. On account of this astounding awareness, Pauline epistolary expression numbered as Colossians 1:26-27 reads:

"That is, the mystery which was hidden [from angels and mankind] for ages and generations, but has now been revealed to His saints (God's people). God [in His eternal plan] chose to make known to them how great for the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in and among you, the hope and guarantee of [realizing the] glory" (AMP). Shalom!

Guided Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I acknowledge your awesome presence that dwells in me and with me all the days of my life, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
