PRUDENTIAL PROFICIENCY BY CHRISTOLOGY - PART 3

WEDNESDAY 18 JUNE 2025

God was pleased, through the folly of an evil spirit that tormented King Saul, to bring David closer to his destined greatness. More below!

Reference: 1st Samuel 16:18 New King James Version (NKJV)

"Then one of the servants answered and said, "Look, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite, who is skillful in playing, a mighty man of valor, a man of war, prudent in speech, and a handsome person; and the LORD is with him."

Today's article is focused on the first segment, namely:

1. Look, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite (Place of Nativity).

The very servant who suggested this option had a sense of responsibility that involved a desirous passion towards seeing an improvement in the King's condition by acknowledging and suggesting what was truly a viable restorative, in terms of momentary solution. I also believe that "Davidic description" uttered by the servant, inspired greater confidence in King Saul, and even indicated a tremendous remediatory advantage for him.

The servant made this suggestion by self-expressed courage, with heartfelt steadfast loyalty, and a sincere determination to see the King restored back to a better state. Did King Saul hear him? Yes, and he didn't take the hearing for granted. This also seemed like the servant was conversant with what was going on across the country. Well, God made the entire human race and placed David somewhere in it, and when it was time for his relevance, the King sought after him with accuracy of his servant's recommendation, without having to cast about in the dark to find him.

People can have a problem with information that is inadequate, inacurate, misleading, misinforming or even confusing, but not this one. In addition, paying attention to such an important detailed communication and suggestion required a speedy response, which the King observed. So who was a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite? He was a David, whose place of nativity was Bethlehem. His Father, Jesse, had a wife, named Nitzevet (also spelled Nitzebet), known as the mother of David, and some traditions suggest that she was an Ephrathite from Bethlehem.

Acts 17:26 (EXB) reads, "God began by making one person, and from him came all the different people from one, God made every nation of people who live everywhere in the world [or in order to inhabit the whole earth]. God decided exactly [determined; or allotted] when [or their appointed time in history; or the seasons of their year] and where they must live [or the boundaries of their lands]"

Is anything quite significant about the town, Bethlehem?

Micah 5:2 reads:

"But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times" (ESV).

God, in His omniscient nature, chose Bethlehem, which is seemingly small, to acknowledge the prestige, notability and occasions of King David's and Christ's nativity. God's ways are a mystery to the world, and therefore, I pray with the sense of eternal wisdom, that we should continually cling to His ways by faith. Stay tuned for part 4. Shalom!

Scripture Reading - Genesis 3:20; Isaiah 45:12; Deuteronomy 32:8; Isaiah 66:9; Jeremiah 27:5.

Guided Prayer:

Dear Father in heaven, the knowledge of your Word instills skillful abilities and prudent understanding in me, and I acknowledge that my prudential proficiency yields instant monumental impact in my Christian faith and in my world at large, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
