PHONOLOGICAL AND TRASFORMATIONAL MYSTERY - PART 10

SATURDAY 27 SEPTEMBER 2025

Here is how apostle Paul habitually prayed:

"For if I pray in tongues, my spirit is praying, but I don't understand what I am saying. Well then, what shall I do? I will pray in the spirit, and I will also pray in words I understand. I will sing in the spirit, and I will also sing in words I understand... I thank God that I speak in tongues more than any of you. But in a church meeting I would rather speak five understandable words to help others than ten thousand words in an unknown language" (1st Corinthians 14:14-19 NLT).

What does the passage reveal? Paul's "alone time" was mostly the time he spent apart from church services or the gathering of the saints to pray more in unknowable utterances. So praying in tongues in "alone time" was a chosen ethical practice that was especially fulfilling for apostle Paul, yet not minding, when in a public worship or a church meeting, he would rather speak few intelligible words to exhort and uplift the saints than multitudinous wordings in an unknown tongues. Nonetheless, we can ascend into our most holy faith, both in church services and during "alone time" praying in the Spirit. More below!

Reference: 1st Corinthians 14:2 New Living Translation (NLT)

"For if you have the ability to speak in tongues, you will be talking only to God, since people won't be able to understand you. You will be speaking by the power of the Spirit, but it will all be mysterious."

In continuation of my expository knowledge from the last article, the rest of the Scriptural passage in which we can recognise the practical application of Paul's love for God's people is stated below:

"...the riches of His glorious inheritance in His holy people, I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God's power for us who believe Him. This is the same mighty power, that raised Christ from the dead and seated Him in the place of honour at God's right hand in the heavenly realms. Now He is far above any ruler or authority or power or leader or anything else - not only in this world but also in the world to come" (Ephesians 1:18-21 NIV/NLT).

Paul prayed for the saints to supremely discover the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints. Question? What are the riches of God's glorious inheritance in the saints? To gain and act on the accurate understanding of what apostle Paul implied or meant in this segmental aspect of his prayer, here is the two-fold version:

Firstly, there is a hope that God has given to those He called - His holy people who are His own rich, peculiar, chosen and glorious inheritance. Secondly, we, who have been sanctified and made holy as saints of God, and as His most prized possession or glorious inheritance, must fully understand the detailed nature of our own goodly heritage in God's kingdom. To that effect, Pauline epistolary expression numbered as Romans 8:17 reads:

"And since we are His children, we are His heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God's glory" (NLT).

In accordance with the above versified statement, did you notice that we are God's own heirs, and also, we are partakers of His glorious richness, both which are denotative of two-fold tremendous blessing? Indeed, Romans 8:17 is the grand summary of true revelation about the saints being God's precious inheritance, and the ultimate word regarding our relational union with Christ, and its glorious rewarding effects.

Beloved, just like apostle Paul, pay too much attention to speaking in tongues and the interpretive manifestations, because they help us to lead a life of good works that produces evidential traits such as spiritual fruit, as well as spiritual and material blessings (See Colossians 1:9-10 ESV).

For instance, asking God to fill you with the knowledge of His will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives - is part of your eternal inheritance. And by means of speaking phonological and transformational mystery, you'll be empowered to stand firm in God's truth and partake of that inheritance. Shalom!

Scripture Reading - Acts 2:11; Acts 10:46; Acts 19:2; 1 Corinthians 14:14–17.

Exuberant Declaration:

With a heart full of thanksgiving, I acknowledge that my joyous experiences and all-inclusive blessings stem from the spring of double portion which reveals that I'm God's heir, as well as the heir of His glory [together with Christ]. Blessed be God!
