PHONOLOGICAL AND TRANSFORMATIONAL MYSTERY - PART 5

Reference: 1st Corinthians 14:2 New Living Translation (NLT)

"For if you have the ability to speak in tongues, you will be talking only to God, since people won’t be able to understand you. You will be speaking by the power of the Spirit, but it will all be mysterious."

The Greek word for "speaking in tongues" is glossolalia. The Greek term grants notable description to the notion of speaking in unknown languages, which is equally denotative of phonological and transformational mystery.

It is a particular way of uttering mysterious words or language specific to a particular people functioning with Spirit-led vocabulary and His signs' expression. As a sign that follows the born again Christian, Jesus identified it by saying, "And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues" (Mark 16:17 ESV).

Signs are a wondrous depth of truth, with distinguished advantages and miraculous charisma, that are traced or attached to a chosen race on account of predestined election in Christ. So Jesus listed them because they help us to recognise the patterns that communicate divine mysteries associated with the chosen race. And the Holy Spirit is filled with glorious and empowering capacity that produces these signs as the divine manifestation of a born again believer.

Notably, speaking with new tongues is one of the transformational signs traced to those that believe in Christ and have received the full attention of the Holy Spirit, who is our independent functional base that propels our behavioural responses to these signs.

Are you duly aware that angels speak by the power of the Holy Ghost? In fact, all the heavenly hosts do so, not just the angelic beings. Moreover, the tongues of angels are "highly ranked" major tongues with greater beneficial importance. Why? The tongues of angels are superior to the tongues of men (See Psalm 8:4-5 ESV). Their tongues have a verbal behaviour that consists of divine consonants and vowels which form unusual phrases and lexicon designed by the Spirit for spiritual enrichment, including singing.

So God sits upon His throne, surrounded by countless angelic beings who demonstrate their speechification in the attitude of adulation, such as singing and praising God, meaning that the tongue of angels are filled with resonate frequency uttered for joy and praiseworthy articulation often directed towards the holy awesomeness of Supreme Deity.

This is the reason, when you speak joyous tongues, it implies that you are being enabled by the Spirit to speak with tongues of angels. When you sing with the spirit as well, you are singing with tongues of angels praisefully. To that effect, a Pauline epistolary expression reads, "...I will sing praise with my spirit, but I will sing with my mind also."

Now this is where phonological and transformational mystery comes in. When we talk about phonological mystery, it can also mean a system of contrastive relationships among the speech sounds of angelic tongues and that of human language which constitute the fundamental components of a viable communication to God, inspired or enabled by the Spirit.

In a good way, that's exactly the exemplification of Pauline emphasis in his epistolary expressions numbered as 1st Corinthians 14:15, where he stated, "What am I to do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will pray with my mind also; I will sing praise with my spirit, but I will sing with my mind also" (ESV). In the context of this versified statement, we can gain an unco recognition that there is an element of contrastive relationships among the speech sounds of singing praise with the spirit, and singing praise with the mind, as enabled by the Spirit. That's a form of phonological mystery!

Beloved, speaking in diverse tongues is also a phonological mystery that can attract criticism, ridicule, or the making of unkind remarks by the natural man with a natural perspective, which intends to dishonour a person or group of chosen race, in a way that shows a lack of regard in considering the things of God, as well as fostering a negative opinion regarding character of the Spirit the saint(s) demonstrate. We could see that in operation as recorded in Acts chapter 2 verse 13, which is a wrong and terrible sense of human perception.

From a heightened standpoint or an admirable advantage, to receive a higher revelation knowledge from the divine assembly at the throne room, you must practise speaking with tongues oftentimes through the Holy Ghost's witnessing power. Stay tuned for part 6. Shalom!

Scripture Reading - Acts 2:4; 1 Corinthians 12:10; Acts 19:1-6; 1 Corinthians 14:13-18.

Exuberant Declaration:

I function with the ability to speak phonological and transformational mystery, and which is a sign that results in miraculous outcomes marked by the power of the Holy Spirit at work in my life. I speak in tongues oftentimes under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and I function as a god that declares words with unlimited power and supreme authority. Glory to God!
